A company spokesperson said, “Meta has sent them to third-party fact-checkers for further review.”Across the U.S., with 40 days until the Nov. 5 election, state and local officials say they are puzzled by what to expect from Facebook. Given Maricopa County’s high profile during the election season, the state often attracts attention from Facebook users across the country. I work at my clinic 40 hours a week, but I used to spend a lot of my time documenting patient notes outside those hours. AdvertisementLast fall, I started using Suki AI, an AI-powered voice assistant, to help me make notes from patient interactions. I'm in favor of using AI for notetaking, but do have hesitations about using it for other purposes in the medical field. I signed up to trial Suki AI, which I heard the American Academy of Family Physicians endorsed, and a competitor product. I'm all in when it comes to using AI for transcription and summing up visits, but we have to make sure we have appropriate guardrails when going beyond that.

General view of the Towers and oil platforms of the State oil Company of Venezuela, Venezuelan oil Company SA. Oil prices steadied on Wednesday after rising in the previous session on fading excitement for the economic stimulus in China, the world's biggest crude importer, though an industry report showing falling U.S. crude and fuel inventories supported the market. Analysts, however, warned that more fiscal help was needed to boost confidence in the world's second-largest economy, which reduced the initial impact on oil prices from the announcement. Still, declining U.S. crude oil and fuel stockpiles provided some support for the market, which has generally risen since prices fell to their lowest since 2021 on Sept. 10. U.S. oil stockpiles dropped by 4.34 million barrels last week while gasoline inventories fell by 3.44 million barrels and distillate stocks fell by 1.12 million barrels, according to market sources citing American Petroleum Institute figures on Tuesday.

The Summary Brett Favre revealed on Tuesday that he has Parkinson's disease. Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre’s announcement that he has Parkinson’s disease is bringing renewed attention to the potential links between collision sports and a risk of brain disease. It definitely says something.”Neurologists who treated boxing legend Muhammad Ali concluded in 2022 that his medical history supported a diagnosis of young-onset Parkinson’s disease, but they could not link the disease to head trauma. Many former football players have been found to show signs of the brain disease, which can only be diagnosed post-mortem. Crutchfield said it’s important for players to take breaks after a head trauma to avoid more serious brain injuries.

Agriculture is responsible for more than 10% of global carbon emissions, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. But while agriculture is a massive carbon offender, it could now be part of a solution, as startups are trying new ways of using nature to save itself. Startups like Lithos, UNDO Carbon and California-based Eion are experimenting with several types of carbon-absorbing rocks that can accomplish what lime does while permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere at the same time. "We apply a rock dust onto farms, and that helps farmers condition the soil or make the soil better for improvements," said Anastasia Pavlovic, CEO of Eion. "Then over time, that manages to secure and sequester carbon, permanently removing it from the atmosphere."

Few address child care, for infants or beyond. Since Dobbs, seven states have had ballot initiatives on the topic, with the abortion rights position winning in each state. In November, at least 10 more initiatives aimed at restoring or protecting abortion rights will be in front of voters across the country. But Brahm has also rallied an array of political, faith, academic, medical and advocacy leaders into a coalition called “Building a Post-Roe Future” that calls for more affordable health care and child care, expanded child tax credits, paid parental leave, flexible work hours and enforced pre-natal support. Though paid parental leave has been a big topic of discussion around the country, the only states to enact such measures since Dobbs are those where abortion rights are protected.

WASHINGTON — As president, Donald Trump slashed a lucrative tax break enjoyed by coastal donors and suburban swing-state voters. What shifted more than the economy is Trump's needs, said Caroline Bruckner, managing director of American University's Kogod Tax Policy Center. The reversal is one of a flurry of freebies that Trump and his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, are offering voters in the stretch run before Election Day. Trump’s proposal to repeal the SALT cap, which is set to expire next year if Congress takes no action, would reduce federal revenue by $1.2 trillion over a decade, according to CRFB’s estimate. But many voters in those counties would stand to benefit considerably from a repeal of the SALT cap.
