But it is simultaneously proving harder to compartmentalize — even in places such as New York City that once looked to residents like concrete fortresses against nature. Last weekend, it was Hudson Valley streets turned into swimming pools by supercharged rain and ravines disgorging landslides that those in New York City watched with a mix of horror and false relief. The flooding was “upstate,” we told ourselves, though by “upstate,” of course, we meant not even 50 miles north of the city. A problem surrounding how service obligation contracts are enforced could result in hundreds of pilots having to stay in uniform three years longer than they’d expected, possibly disrupting plans for civilian life, including wedding plans, their spouse’s careers and their own civilian employment opportunities. After realizing the mistake for those officers, Drew said the Army then did an audit of sorts for other aviation officers, finding the error that is now impacting roughly 600 people. “As an Aviation Officer near the end of my understood service obligation, this impacts my family and I the most as I am attempting to make the transition to civilian life,” the letter said. But Army pilots have an additional obligation of six years in uniform after they complete flight school. But no matter what occurred in the past, the officer told CNN that dozens of aviators are prepared to pursue legal action in court if the Army doesn’t resolve the issue.

March 30 (Reuters) - Citigroup Inc (C.N) hired Andy Sieg to lead its global wealth arm, the lender said on Thursday, from Bank of America Corp (BAC.N), where he led the Merrill Wealth Management unit. Two years ago, Citigroup unified its various wealth businesses into a single organization led by Jim O'Donnell that included its private bank and personal wealth management divisions. Fraser signaled the bank's intention to become a global leader in wealth management at its investor day last year. "This is a fantastic opportunity to build a leading wealth management business at the world's most global bank at a time of massive wealth creation," he said in a statement. Sieg's departure prompted the appointments of Lindsay Hans and Eric Schimpf as co-leads of Merrill Wealth Management, Bank of America said in a separate statement.

Sieg is leaving for rival bank Citi, where he faces a big challenge when he starts in September: improving Citi's wealth business, which has lagged behind competitors like Merrill and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. New battles await both Sieg at Citi, where he will be head of Citi Global Wealth, and his successors at Merrill. The move was made after the wealth business had missed revenue targets, the Wall Street Journal reported. Citi CEO Jane Fraser described the wealth management unit's performance as "disappointing" on a call to discuss earnings in January.

"As in all parliamentary monarchies (the heir) has to have a military background and a military career," Robles said after a cabinet meeting. The princess will receive her first year of training at the Army Military Academy in Zaragoza, then go to a naval school, which includes sailing the Juan Sebastian Elcano training tall ship, and finish her studies at the General Air Academy. The government and the Royal House have agreed her "very intense" military training will precede university studies, following in the footsteps of her father in the 1980s.
