REUTERS/Aly SongHONG KONG, April 10 (Reuters) - China's SenseTime (0020.HK) unveiled on Monday a slew of new artificial intelligence-powered products including a chatbot and image generator, joining a global race ignited by the popularity of OpenAI's ChatGPT. Big models are typically trained on massive datasets using powerful hardware. Global interest in AI technology has soared since the debut in late 2022 of ChatGPT, a popular chat bot developed by U.S. company OpenAI which uses generative AI technology that learns from past data to create new text, images or computer code. "We have been focusing on developing our big models.

Amid the recent flurry of excitement around the transformational potential of ChatGPT is the fact that companies have been using artificial intelligence across their businesses for years. But few companies have the ability to gather the massive data sets that power AI quite like Walmart . There are roughly 4,700 Walmart stores and 600 Sam's Clubs in the U.S. employing a combined 1.6 million workers — or associates as the company likes to call them. "[Customers] are generating all these breadcrumbs about what they like and want and that's allowing us to make the shopping experience better," she said. At Sam's, that means staying on top of roughly 6,000 items stacked on shelves in warehouse stores that average 136,000 sq.

A think tank created by a Palantir co-founder is behind model legislation banning "public camping." So far, Texas and Missouri have passed laws making public camping a Class C misdemeanor. Many states and cities have taken a punitive approach to the problem, making homeless encampments illegal. In 2021, Texas became the first state to pass a Cicero-inspired state-wide law, making public camping a Class C misdemeanor punishable with up to a $500 fine. And, if they don't comply with the ban, it criminalizes their living condition," Eric Samuels, president and CEO of the Texas Homeless Network, said in a statement at the time.

Confused delivery drivers add time, cost, and frustration to deliveries. Tech companies are looking to close the data gap between an address and a completed delivery. The English tech company throws out traditional addresses and instead divides the world into a grid of 10-foot by 10-foot squares. In a delivery scenario, the drive receives the code, which identifies the grid square containing the entrance as opposed to the traditional address. Pooling local knowledgeBeans.ai is another company that's looking to cut down on wasted time and emissions with more precise address data — but this time built with shoe leather.
