April 29 (Reuters) - The Trek–Segafredo cycling team have "parted ways" with Italian Antonio Tiberi a couple of months after suspending the former junior world champion for killing his neighbour's cat by shooting it with an air rifle. In February the team suspended Tiberi, a junior time trial world champion in 2019, for 20 days over the incident and on Friday they cut ties with the 21-year-old altogether. "Trek-Segafredo and Antonio Tiberi have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately, after the rider's actions during his suspension did not meet our criteria for a return to competition," the team said in a statement. The cat had belonged Federico Pedini Amati, a minister in the San Marino government and a former Captain Regent, or head of state, of the microstate enclaved in northern Italy. loading($1 = 0.9074 euros)Reporting by Aadi Nair in Bengaluru, editing by Nick Mulvenney and Lincoln Feast.

ThredUp's Fashion Footprint calculator tallies the climate impact of the clothes we buy. Turns out, the climate impact of my annual shopping habits is still 65% lower than the average customer, at least according to ThredUp's new Fashion Footprint calculator. Resale captured 9% of the US apparel market in 2022, compared with 3% a decade ago, according to ThredUp's latest annual report. Americans spent $1.4 billion on secondhand clothes last year that they normally would have bought new, a 40% jump over 2021. I plugged that into ThredUp's calculator.

But none of that explains why political campaigns have been turning away from Facebook. Political ads have always been a small part of Facebook's overall business. The pandemic accelerated that trend since so many consumers turned to streaming platforms while stuck at home, and content for cord-cutters proliferated. Ad tracking firm AdImpact projected that of the $9.7 billion spent on political ads this cycle, $1.4 billion would go to connected TVs. Apple's crackdown has indeed diminished Facebook's position in political advertising.

Despite lagging most of its EU neighbors on LGBTQ rights, a 2020 study by the U.S.-based Pew Research Center found 75% of Italians think homosexuality should be accepted. In the northern city of Verona, Stefano Ambrosini, a gay 28-year-old PhD student, said he feared Meloni’s election triumph could lead to an increase in homophobic violence.
