The latest financial results and commentary from the world's biggest third-party chipmaker gave a big boost Thursday to Apple and semiconductor stocks, including artificial intelligence leader Nvidia . Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company , whose customers include the likes of Apple, Nvidia and fellow Club stock Broadcom , said its fourth-quarter revenue from smartphone chips grew a better-than-expected 27% on a quarterly basis. "Let's not overthink it: Apple and Nvidia are the two that are most obvious" beneficiaries from TSMC's results, Jim Cramer said Thursday. Previously, TSMC had said AI chips were on track to become a "low teens" percentage of its revenue. TSMC's results and guidance Thursday offer so-called "read-throughs" on its customers, many of which are Club stocks such as Apple, Nvidia and Broadcom.

The S & P 500 just notched a record high to declare its bull market status, but according to one money manager who helps oversee more than $1 trillion, there are a few names investors could focus on for the next leg of the cycle. The list of most-loved Club stocks on Wall Street entering the new year resembles the list of 2023 winners, except for two stocks: Constellation Brands and Disney . Among the 11 stocks, analysts expect Nvidia to have the biggest gains in the new year, based on price targets compiled by FactSet. The average price target on Wall Street is $291.31 a share, representing 20.5% upside from Constellation's close Friday. The average Disney price target of $103.08 per share implies about 14% upside from Friday's close. We maintain a price target of $120.

Wall Street analysts are saying it's a great time to invest in two of our favorite industrial-focused stocks: Honeywell and Linde . Morgan Stanley on Monday raised its price target and kept its buy-equivalent rating on industrial gas and engineering firm Linde. As for Linde, Jim has long touted the stock as the Club's favorite way to invest in the global transition to clean energy. On Dec 1, we increased our Club price target on Linde to $440 per share from $410. The Club's price target is $225, reflecting about a 12.5% premium to where the stock traded Monday afternoon.

The stock market this year has been led by just a handful of the biggest and best tech companies. Just look at the S & P 500 market-cap weighted index, which is viewed as a barometer of the overall stock market. Compare that to the much smaller 3% year-to-date increase in the S & P 500 equal-weight index, which treats each company's stocks the same regardless of market value. It's hard to turn off the monitors and wait for your seven stocks to come back after a terrible year. Workers are missing cog in US manufacturing gears

NEW YORK, Nov 7 (Reuters Breakingviews) - There’s a spanner in the freshly restarted U.S. manufacturing machine. Based in part on the planned construction spending, Goldman Sachs analysts estimate that Biden’s initiatives could lead to as many as 250,000 new manufacturing jobs over the next two years. Pay growth is also cooling faster for production and manufacturing jobs, at 4.2% year-over-year in August, down from an 11% annual peak in December 2021 and compared to the national average of 4.5%, according to jobs website Indeed. By 2030, technological and cognitive skills in the manufacturing sector will be in far higher demand as the share of physical and manual tasks drops by more than a quarter from 2016, McKinsey says. The U.S. manufacturing engine may be humming along now, but employment-related complications threaten to throw sand in the gears.

"It was a very bad quarter," Cramer said, pointing to Air Product's weak forward guidance compared to rival Linde's (LIN) overall upbeat results last month. On Oct. 26, Linde posted 17% adjusted earnings-per-share growth and a lift to its profit guidance. We'll have to see at the close whether Linde shares can turn things around and go for eight. However, he added, "Air Products is proving that not to be the case." Cramer's Charitable Trust does not hold shares of Air Products but does have a stake in Linde.

LIN YTD mountain Linde YTD Bottom line Industrial gas giant Linde (LIN) delivered the kind of quarter we've come to expect: Double-digit earnings growth and a lift to its profit guidance. While the top-line sales figure was light, Linde's strong operating margin expansion in the quarter more than made up for it. In good economic times and bad, Linde's model of continued margin expansion with project growth has enabled earnings per share growth of at least 10% annually. That means the current backlog of $4.5 billion should be worth a few percentage points of earnings growth next year. Linde sees fourth-quarter earnings per share falling to between $3.38 and $3.48, compared with the $3.46 consensus estimate from analysts.
