CNN —Human error led to the death of a young gorilla in Alberta, Canada, according to officials at the Calgary Zoo. The gorilla died of traumatic head injuries, according to the statement. “This tragedy has struck us all in the deepest way imaginable,” Colleen Baird, Calgary Zoo’s director of animal care, said at a news conference. “We love and care for more than 4,000 animals representing over 100 species that call our zoo home,” a spokesperson for the Calgary Zoo said in a statement to CNN. A New York City urologist was handed a life sentence Wednesday after previously being convicted of the yearslong sexual abuse of patients, some of whom were minors. Darius Paduch, 57, of North Bergen, New Jersey, worked as a urologist at two prominent New York medical institutions. "He used his position as a renowned urologist at prestigious hospitals to sexually assault vulnerable patients, including children, to gratify his own sexual desires."
