On that day, he has already vowed to impose a 25% tariff on Mexican and Canadian imports as well as an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods. And on the campaign trail, he also pledged a 10% to 20% tariff on goods coming from all other nations. These tariffs have the potential to significantly increase the prices consumers pay on nearly everything that isn’t made entirely in the US, of which there are very few goods. CNN —A motorist was killed Monday in a traffic accident with a police officer responding to a bomb threat at the home of Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene, authorities said. Greene, a Republican who represents Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, said in a statement that her local police department in Rome, about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta, received the bomb threat via email. The collision resulted in the death of the other driver, Tammie Pickelsimer, Rome Police spokesperson Kelly Madden confirmed to CNN. The threat directed at Greene comes in the wake of multiple false threats made against various members of Congress. “The individual responsible for this crime has effectively committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia,” Greene said.

CNN —An 11-year-old girl was left fighting for her life and a 12-year-old boy died after falling into the ice of Washington Park Lake in Albany, New York, on Saturday. The boy was found dead at the scene, and the girl is in critical condition after falling in while trying to save him. She was listed in critical condition as of Sunday, according to a statement from North Albany Middle School. There was also a specialized water unit with water rescue equipment dispatched to the scene, Albany Chief of Fire and Emergency Services Joseph Gregory told the Times Union. “This is a terrible tragedy, and we are grieving as a school community.”The Albany school district is providing crisis services for students and school employees needing support after the accident, according to the school district.
