"I know what I bring to the table every single night and what I can do out on this floor. "I always say Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Former NBA coach George Karl, whose teams went up against both Jordan and James, also weighed into the GOAT debate last month. Karl suggested Jordan would have been even more dominant in today's game amid a league-wide trend in favour of offense. "Anyone who is debating Michael's GOAT status doesn't realize he would average a 40 PPG triple double in the modern game!"
But Tomé's optimism comes as the Teamsters union, which represents more than 340,000 UPS workers, amps up pressure on the delivery giant. "Whether there is a strike of UPS workers is up to UPS," said Kara Deniz, a spokesperson for the Teamsters. The talks start in April, with the current national contract set to expire on July 31. In the fourth quarter of 2022, UPS workers delivered a global average of 28 million packages per day, according to the company's website. For the first time, Teamsters Union President Sean O'Brien and the union's secretary of the treasury will have seats at the bargaining table and be directly involved in negotiating the terms of the new contract.
Feb 2 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Thursday declared unconstitutional a federal law making it a crime for people under domestic violence restraining orders to own firearms. Circuit Court of Appeals is the latest victory for gun rights advocates since a Supreme Court decision last June granting a broad right for people to carry firearms outside the home. In Thursday's decision, Circuit Judge Cory Wilson said banning people under domestic violence restraining orders from owning firearms "embodies salutory policy goals meant to protect vulnerable people in our society." Rahimi had been under a restraining order since Feb. 2020, following his alleged assault of a former girlfriend. It had upheld the federal law last June 8, just over two weeks before the Bruen decision, but withdrew its opinion and ordered additional briefing.
Oral arguments focused on whether something called the "Trump Organization" legally exists. The judge, meanwhile, warned that "come hell or high water" an October trial will not be delayed. "Come hell or high water, and pardon my French," the judge added of his set-in-stone trial start time: 10 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023. It's shorthand for them, as well — James' lawsuit references "the Trump Organization," for convenience's sake, some 300 times in its 222 pages. The judge urged the attorney general's office and the defendants' lawyers to avoid a protracted argument over sanctions.
Kris Kashtanova says doing the art for the graphic novel “Zarya of the Dawn” was like conjuring it up with a spell. “New York Skyline forest punk,” the author typed into an artificial intelligence program that turns written prompts into pictures. Then came the tinkering with the wording to get the right effect. “Crepuscular rays. Epic scene.”

The film won nominations for best picture, best director and its stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan won nods for best performance by an actress and actor in a leading role. The nominations were announced by Allison Williams and Riz Ahmed on Tuesday morning at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Voting for the nominations concluded Jan. 17, and 9,579 members of the academy were eligible to vote, according to Variety. Neither women of color made it to the list for best leading actress. The Oscar nominations come just weeks after the Golden Globes returned to the airwaves.
Ukraine has launched deadly long-range strikes against Russian troops in eastern Ukraine. Some of those strikes and other attacks have reportedly been enabled by Russian cell phone use. Those cases illustrate the growing use of cell phones as sensors on the battlefield. In addition, Ukrainians have used their cell phones to report on Russian military movements. Cell phones have also provided accountability, allowing observers to tally losses and to shed light on misdeeds.

A former Soviet air force officer, Viktor Bout had been regarded as one of the world’s leading arms traffickers when the U.S. agents helped arrest him in a sting operation in Bangkok in 2008. Critics called him one of the world’s most effective arms traders and he was rumored to have been the inspiration for the Hollywood movie “Lord of War.” Suspected clients included Liberia’s Charles Taylor and Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi . He has spent the last 10 years in a U.S. prison, to which he had been sentenced after being convicted of trying to sell weapons to Colombian rebels. Russian authorities had long tried to secure his release, however, finally achieving their goal in a prisoner exchange with Brittney Griner , the WNBA star who had been sentenced to nine years in a Russian penal colony.
