For years, China ramped up green energy production capacity, becoming the global leader in renewable energy manufacturing, from solar to wind to battery. In a second Trump administration, prices for imports from China are likely to surge for green energy producers. The view is that First Solar will benefit the most within the U.S. solar sector from greater trade restrictions, according to Baird. Ultimately, that may curtail the number of green energy startups and private companies that want to go public, Schleif said. "It's been really hard to compete with Chinese companies in any way, shape or form."

The put is OTM because the strike price is below the spot price. The Nasdaq-100 has seen significant profit taking as many investors have trimmed their exposure to the Mag 7. Volatility and carnage in the Nasdaq should persist causing more sellers to sell tech stocks. Here is an options strategy to profit on this additional plunge in Tech. However, the move ran out of gas into the closing bell, and the QQQ finished back in the red. The stock market is facing several issues: a tech re-rating, a slower economy, a seasonally weak period and an uncertain presidential outcome. Big cap tech is getting re-rated This is what happens when the market gets top-heavy in technology. Prices for megacap tech stocks have run up dramatically in hopes of outsized earnings. Regardless, investors have been re-rating tech stocks for many weeks now. Technology stocks have been toppy for some time.

AdvertisementETF enthusiasmInstead of single stocks, clients across the board are putting their money into ETFs. Bank of AmericaEven though clients sold off individual small-cap stocks, they're not shying away from that size segment of the market at all. Clients invested more money in small-cap ETFs than large-cap ones, providing small-caps with the biggest boost since May of this year. Similarly, while individual tech stocks experienced a sell-off, tech ETFs saw the largest capital inflow out of all sectors last week. Small-cap ETFs include Vanguard Small-Cap Index (VSCIX) and Invesco S&P SmallCap 600 Revenue ETF (RWJ).

With the SEC clearing the path for ETFs, Grayscale will have a boatload of rivals, and investors can go hunting for the lowest fees. Large financial firms, including Fidelity Investments, Franklin Templeton, BlackRock and Invesco, are already on the market with their own spot ether ETFs. In their first day of trading on Tuesday, spot ether ETFs collectively saw over $1 billion in volume, with JPMorgan analysts estimating net sales of $104 million. Tuesday's debut of exchange-traded funds that hold ether is widely seen as a significant event for the crypto industry, although it may not see the success or fanfare that bitcoin ETFs did earlier this year. The ether ETFs come about six months after the launch of bitcoin ETFs , which saw some of the most successful debuts in the industry's history. And so the question is how much impact on price is really going to have?" Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, whose Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF (QETH) began trading Tuesday, agreed ether ETF flows could be small compared to bitcoin funds'. "We think it'll be about 20% as many flows [that] will go into the ether ETF in the first six months that went into bitcoin [ETFs]," he said in a separate "Squawk Box" interview.

Earnings season is heating up, as Tesla and Google-parent Alphabet are set to report their latest results after the bell Tuesday. I'm considering a bullish trade in QQQ for Wednesday — contingent on a positive market reaction to GOOG and TSLA earnings. This allows you to construct a $1 wide bull call spread and risk as little as $50 to make $50 per winning trade. I've suggested a 482-483 call spread because QQQ is trading at 482 as of writing this. If earnings are strong, QQQ will likely gap up and open at a higher price tomorrow.

This week, the benchmark Invesco Solar ETF (TAN) and the iShares Global Clean Energy ETF (ICLN) are down 6.2% and 4.6%, respectively. Residential solar stocks, including Enphase , Sunnova , Sunrun , SolarEdge and SunPower , would face a "severe impact" if Republicans successfully weaken or entirely repeal the IRA, according to Piper. The stock in the clean energy space with the least exposure to election risks is GE Vernova , according to a July slide deck from JPMorgan on clean energy. As a domestic manufacturer, First Solar potentially stands to benefit if the U.S. trade war with China intensifies under a Trump administration, according to Kallo. Though total IRA repeal may be unlikely, solar and clean energy stocks will "continue to be volatile until (and even after) the election due to headline risk," Kallo said.

Doing a sum-of-the-parts analysis of Blackrock's ETF business would be a difficult endeavor, but certainly revenue, assets under management (AUM), and growth potential are important factors. Jeffrey Buchbinder, the chief equity strategist at LPL Financial, doesn't think the rally is sustainable. Although stocks will likely continue rising for a while longer this earnings season, Buchbinder advises investors to prepare for a pullback later this year. Given his uninspired view on how stocks will perform, Buchbinder recommends waiting and buying the dip when the market eventually corrects. For investors' existing equity allocations, Buchbinder recommends leaning toward domestic equities, with a focus on growth stocks. ETFs like the Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG), iShares Morningstar Growth ETF (ILCG), and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) all provide exposure to growth stocks.

The next round of filings for spot ether ETFs with the SEC is due today, part of the ongoing regulatory process required before spot ether ETFs can be launched. One thing's for sure: the launch of spot bitcoin ETFs this year has been a success. That's still true for this year, but two of the top 10 ETF inflows year to date have been into spot bitcoin ETFs: iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) at number four, and Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust (FBTC) at number eight. Would 50% of the inflows of the spot bitcoin ETF be a win? We'll talk about this with Matt Hougan from Bitwise Asset Management, one of the applicants for a spot ether ETF.
