Hong Kong CNN —OnlyFans, a popular subscription-based website known for its sexually explicit content, has quietly become accessible in China after previously being blocked by government censors. GreatFire.org, an organization that monitors Internet freedom in China, says OnlyFans became unblocked on November 29. The site has previously been intermittently available within China, but usually for much shorter periods of time. News that OnlyFans is now accessible in China has been welcomed online.

CNN —Two golf governing bodies – the LPGA and the USGA – announced new guidelines Wednesday requiring golfers to be female at birth or to have transitioned pre-puberty to be eligible to compete in women’s events. Athletes assigned female at birth are eligible to compete on the LPGA Tour, Epson Tour, Ladies European Tour and USGA championships and team events. Meanwhile, players assigned male at birth and who have gone through male puberty are not eligible. “Our policy is reflective of an extensive, science-based and inclusive approach,” said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan in a press release. How Jaguar plans to save itself

Glover said the first actual production model Jaguar is expected to launch in 2026 and will closely resemble the concept. Jaguar Land Rover hit an annual sales record in 2017. Though that was largely thanks to the success of Land Rover's three lines of muscular SUVs, Jaguar sales hit 178,601, a 20% increase over the previous year, at that point. Jaguar's struggles are not unique, said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for iSeeCars, a car shopping website and data provider. "Going volume definitely didn't help," said Charles Tennant, an independent auto analyst who is both the former chief engineer at Land Rover and a former director at Tata Motors, who advised the Indian carmaker on the Jaguar and Land Rover acquisition.

Transgender Care for Minors Faces Supreme Court Test
  + stars: | 2024-12-04 | by ( Adam Liptak | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Wednesday over whether a Tennessee law denying some kinds of medical care to transgender youth runs afoul of the Constitution. Twenty-three other states have similar laws. The court’s decision, expected by June, will almost certainly yield a major statement on transgender rights against the backdrop of a fierce public debate over the role gender identity should play in areas as varied as sports, bathrooms and pronouns. The Tennessee law prohibits medical providers from prescribing puberty-delaying medication, providing hormone therapy or performing surgery to treat what the law called “purported discomfort or distress from a discordance between the minor’s sex and asserted identity.” But the law allows those same treatments for “a congenital defect, precocious puberty, disease or physical injury.”Three families and a doctor sued to challenge the law, and the Biden administration intervened on their side. The challengers said the law violated the Constitution by denying equal protection to transgender people, primarily by discriminating against them based on sex.

Gorsuch, a key vote in transgender case, remains silentOne of the most notable twists in the hours of speaking was a conservative justice who decided to say nothing at all: Neil Gorsuch. It’s one of several issues that adds uncertainty to the future of the litigation around transgender rights. Transgender rights advocates have argued that that anti-transgender laws aimed at supposedly protecting children are just the start of a strategy that would ultimately go after all transgender people. Short bursts of movement throughout the day — no matter how small — can help the heart, especially for women, research published Tuesday found. On average, men in the study did 11 short bursts of vigorous activity during the day, some which lasted less than a minute, and women did about nine. Vigorous activity meant it was high intensity, said Emmanuel Stamatakis, a professor of physical activity, lifestyle and population health at the University of Sydney, who led the study. Women who got just under 3.5 minutes of vigorous movement a day, however, were found to have a 45% lower risk of any of the heart problems than women who didn’t log any vigorous movement throughout the day. Getting about 5.5 minutes of vigorous movement per day reduced their risk of a major heart problem by 16%.

The 88-year-old doctor accused of sexually assaulting Indiana University basketball players in the 1990s will be deposed Wednesday after a judge ruled he was competent to be questioned about the allegations. They alleged that their coaches and trainers were aware that Bomba was subjecting basketball players to unnecessary prostate examinations and did nothing to stop him. Indiana University is represented by the Indianapolis-based Barnes & Thornburg law firm, university spokesperson Mark Bode wrote in an email. Bomba had played football for Indiana University and was nicknamed “Frankenstein” by coaches and players “due to the large size of his hands and fingers,” the lawsuit added. The accusations that the university turned a blind eye to allegations that a team doctor was sexually abusing players echo a scandal involving a team doctor at a rival school.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston has been a highlight machine since taking over the starting job on Oct. 27 — both good and bad. That was never more true than Monday night, when Winston threw for 497 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-32 loss to the Denver Broncos. That would have been a great stat line, except Winston also threw three interceptions — including two pick-sixes. In true Winston fashion, immediately following Bonitto’s score, he led an 11-play drive in under 90 seconds for a touchdown. But one play after converting a 3rd-and-12, Ja'Quan McMillan intercepted Winston for a 44-yard score that gave Denver a 41-32 lead.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers made the midseason decision to switch starting quarterbacks, the move wasn’t exactly celebrated. Releasing Wilson cost the Broncos $85 million combined against their salary cap this season and next — the biggest cap penalty ever. The Broncos still had to pay Wilson $39 million this year after they cut him, minus whatever salary he made if he signed with another team. That allowed Pittsburgh to scoop him for a bargain one-year, $1.21 million contract, with Wilson getting $37.79 million more from the Broncos. In the middle of 2020, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s investigative unit sent the agency’s top officials a report containing a stark warning based on an interview it had conducted with a doctor who had worked in China’s sports ministry. The doctor claimed that China had been running a state-backed doping program for decades, a potential nightmare scenario for the Olympic movement, which was still recovering from a Russian doping scandal that had rocked the Games. And while the doctor’s information was years old — she had defected in 2017 — it was specific. Among the ways Chinese athletes were cheating, she said, was by taking undetectable amounts of a little-known prescription heart medication, trimetazidine, or TMZ, which can help increase stamina, endurance and recovery. The investigative unit’s decision to pass its warning up to the agency’s leaders was unusual, and the unit put China on a special watch list of countries to receive extra scrutiny, given the concerns raised by the doctor, who, the investigators felt, was credible.
