CNN —Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit Thursday against CBS Broadcasting Inc. and CBS Interactive Inc., demanding $10 billion in damages over the network’s “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s legal counsel argued that “CBS’s misconduct was unconscionable because it amounts to a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.”A spokesperson for CBS said that Trump’s claims against “60 Minutes” are false. “The Interview was not doctored; and 60 MINUTES did not hide any part of the Vice President’s answer to the question at issue. 60 MINUTES fairly presented the Interview to inform the viewing audience, and not to mislead it. The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it,” the spokesperson continued.

William Herman Hietamaki was identified this month using genetic genealogy after construction workers initially found human bones near the Hoover Dam in 2009, according to a statement this week from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Mohave County Sheriff's Office via FacebookThe items were turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, but no leads developed despite years of investigating. This month, the sheriff’s office learned that the John Doe in the case had ancestors with roots in Michigan dating back to the 1800s. The sheriff’s office said Hietamaki, a known hitchhiker who lived a nomadic lifestyle, had been traveling in the southwest United States. He was last seen when he visited his sister in New Mexico in 1995, according to the sheriff’s office.

It's impossible to do consistently, and that's why Jim Cramer always says "own, don't trade" Apple stock. During the reported quarter, Apple returned over $29 billion to shareholders, including $3.8 billion in dividends and equivalents and another $25 billion via the repurchase of 112 million shares. Though Services sales missed the mark, gross income managed to outpace expectations thanks to significant year-over-year margin expansion. The growing installed base of active devices is of course translating into strong engagement with Apple's services.

Apple on Wednesday introduced new MacBook Pro laptops with updated processors, in what is likely the company's last major hardware announcement of the year. Apple says the new chips are 1.8 times faster than the M1, which powered Apple's 2021 MacBook Pro. Additionally, all of the new MacBook Pro models come with at least 16GB of RAM. The more memory a computer has, the more it is capable of handling larger and more sophisticated AI models. Doubling the RAM on its laptops represents the most significant change Apple has made to its lineup of computers to better support Apple Intelligence.

New York CNN —Keurig Dr Pepper will expand its energy drink business by acquiring the brand Ghost for more than $1 billion. The range of Ghost’s energy drink flavors, in partnership with sweet brands like Sour Patch Kids and Oreo, sets Keurig up to appeal to a younger audience, the company said in a statement Thursday. This is the biggest deal Keurig has signed off since acquiring Dr Pepper Snapple Group in 2018 for nearly $19 billion in cash, according to the Wall Street Journal. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. (KDP) will acquire Ghost in two stages, paying $990 million in cash for 60% of the company by early 2025, then will buy the remaining stake in 2028, according to the statement. The deal includes Ghost’s sports nutrition business and energy drink arm.
