The need for conversion to low-carbon steel production is greater in Europe, where 57% of steel is produced in coal-fired blast furnaces. Swedish-based startup H2 Green Steel has signed deals to supply low-carbon steel to IKEA, Mercedes-Benz , BMW and Scania. Customers of H2 Green Steel have been willing to support the project based on their own green targets and their end-customers’ willingness to pay a green premium, he said. H2 Green Steel said it would charge a €150 premium, while Swedish steelmaker SSAB expects to charge double that. Research from the Rocky Mountain Institute suggests the IRA will encourage green steel investments that would, by 2030, produce about eight million tons of low-carbon steel, or nearly 10% of U.S. steel demand.

Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Ukrainian human rights lawyers who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, commended the committee’s decision to honor Mohammadi. NEW YORK, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Shares of electric-vehicle startup Fisker Inc (FSR.N) rose by more than 20% on Tuesday after the company reaffirmed its plan to increase deliveries of its flagship Ocean sports utility vehicle, and a bullish Wall Street analyst report. The EV maker said it had built 5,000 Ocean SUVs and expects to ramp up deliveries to 300 units per day later this year, reiterating a plan announced earlier this month by Chief Executive Henrik Fisker. Fisker's shares rose as high as $6.47, and were on course for their biggest daily percentage gain since April. "The automotive industry is undergoing a once-in-a-century revolution with technology advancement on electrification, autonomy, and digitization," the analysts said. CNN —Nearly 3,000 people are dead, towns and villages are decimated and rescuers are trawling for survivors after a massive earthquake ripped through Morocco. The quake is the worst the country has suffered in decades and the full scale of its damage is yet to be understood. Friday’s disaster is the deadliest quake to hit Morocco in more than 60 years, according to EM-DAT, an international disaster database. In 1960, a 5.8 magnitude quake in Morocco with an epicenter in Adagir led to at least 12,000 deaths and 25,000 injuries. And in 1980, a 7.1 magnitude ground movement in Algeria followed by a tsunami caused more than 2,600 deaths and huge damage.
