A federal judge in North Dakota blocked a Biden administration rule that allowed DACA recipients to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. OpenAI publicly launched the AI video generator Sora, offering new creative tools. AdvertisementAs part of Shipmas Day 3, OpenAI just launched its AI video generator Sora to the public. Rohan Sahai, Sora's product lead, said a product team of about five or six engineers built the product in months. "Sora is a tool," Sora product designer Joey Flynn said. ChatGPT Plus subscribers who pay $20 monthly can get up to 50 generations per month of AI videos that are 5 seconds long with a resolution of 720p.

OpenAI said Monday it's releasing its buzzy AI video-generation tool, Sora, later in the day. The AI video-generation model works similarly to OpenAI's image-generation AI tool, DALL-E: A user types out a desired scene, and Sora will return a high-definition video clip. The Microsoft-backed artificial intelligence startup, which burst into the mainstream last year thanks to the viral popularity of ChatGPT, introduced Sora in February. OpenAI said users don't need to pay extra for the tool, which will be included in existing ChatGPT accounts such as Plus and Pro. With Sora, the ChatGPT maker is looking to compete with video-generation AI tools from companies such as Meta and Google, which announced Lumiere in January.

CNN —Rupert Murdoch cannot amend his family trust to put the power of his media companies in the hands of his chosen successor, a Nevada commissioner has ruled. Rupert Murdoch had wanted to amend his irrevocable family trust, which gives his four eldest children equal voting shares upon his death. Disputes over the family trust have been tearing the family apart, sources previously told CNN. The family trust that Rupert designed a quarter-century ago has been viewed in recent years as a pathway toward potential political change. Rupert Murdoch also decided to petition the Nevada probate trust to amend the trust.
