REUTERS/Victoria Klesty/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Novo Nordisk (NOVOb.CO) is spending billions of dollars to boost output and ease shortages of its hugely popular, highly effective weight-loss medicine Wegovy. FILL-FINISHNovo has hired Catalent (CTLT.N), a large U.S. contract drug manufacturer, to fill injection pens for Wegovy at two of that company's plants: in Brussels and in Bloomington, Indiana. But the gift comes with mandatory withdrawals for heirs and following the rules can be difficult, experts say. According to the Secure Act of 2019, certain heirs now have less time to deplete inherited accounts due to a change in so-called "required minimum distributions." But there's now a 10-year withdrawal rule for certain heirs, meaning everything must be withdrawn by the 10th year after the original account owner's death. The rule applies to accounts inherited by so-called "non-eligible designated beneficiaries" on Jan. 1, 2020, or later. Ed Slott IRA expertNon-eligible designated beneficiaries are heirs who aren't a spouse, minor child, disabled, chronically ill or certain trusts.

But instead of going national with its late-night business, Chipotle is targeting "college towns that eat the most Chipotle," the chain announced Wednesday. The fresh-Mex chain, which has more than 3,250 restaurants, said 53 college towns will stay open until midnight on Halloween – a busy night for the brand. "Over the past two years, Chipotle has seen a 30 percent increase in transactions after 8 p.m. on Halloween and 81 percent of 18- to 26-year-olds surveyed reported wanting to see Chipotle open until midnight," the chain said.

Ron DeSantis' presidential primary campaign raised $15 million over the past three months, while burning through around $11 million during the same period, according to Federal Election Commission records. The totals represent both the DeSantis campaign and a joint fundraising committee called Team DeSantis 2024. DeSantis' campaign reported finishing the quarter with a little more than $12 million in cash on hand. The $11 million that the campaign reported spending was roughly equivalent to how much the DeSantis campaign alone raised over the same period, without the help of the joint fundraising committee. DeSantis' campaign also reported spending at least $250,000 on private airfare.

The so-called core PPI increased 2.8% on a year-on-year basis in September after climbing 2.9% in August. Wholesale goods prices increased 0.9%, with a 3.3% rise in the cost of energy products accounting for nearly three-quarters of the increase. Excluding the volatile food and energy components, core goods prices edged up 0.1% for the second straight month. This mostly reflected the normalization of supply chains, whose disruption fueled goods inflation in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though core inflation is cooling, higher gasoline and food prices could hamper progress by raising the cost of other goods as well as causing consumers to expect inflation to rise.

REUTERS/Fred Greaves/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsCompanies Liberty Mutual Group Inc FollowSept 21 (Reuters) - California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara took steps on Thursday to allow property insurers to factor in climate risks including wildfires in rate prices, if they increase underwriting in at-risk areas to wean consumers off state-funded coverage. The measures by the state's insurance regulator follow an executive order by Governor Gavin Newsom urging regulatory action to expand coverage in underserved areas, account for catastrophe risks in rates, and keep the FAIR Plan solvent. The continued retreat of larger insurance carriers from the California residential property insurance market signals ongoing regulatory constraints, rising cost inflation, and higher catastrophe losses, credit rating agency Fitch said in a note earlier this year. The strategy transfers your pretax or non-deductible IRA funds to a Roth IRA, which kick-starts future tax-free growth. But you have to plan for the upfront tax bill. Here are some key factors to consider before making a Roth conversion, according to financial experts. Assess the short-term tax consequencesWhile a Roth conversion may offer long-term tax benefits, there's potential for shorter-term consequences, Lawrence warned.

Protesters react as they gather inside the South Carolina House as members debate a new near-total ban on abortion with no exceptions for pregnancies caused by rape or incest at the state legislature in Columbia, South Carolina, U.S. August 30, 2022. The South Carolina Supreme Court on a 4-1 vote rejected a request by Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to reconsider its Aug. 23 ruling, which they said left unanswered what constitutes a "fetal heartbeat" under the Republican-backed law. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, a Republican, in a statement welcomed the decision. The U.S. Supreme Court last year overturned its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that had legalized abortion nationwide, prompting Republican-led states including South Carolina to ban or severely curtail the ability of women to obtain abortions. The new law came after the state Supreme Court in January struck down a similar abortion law, by a 3-2 vote.

This relatively new and growing segment of the housing market is called “build for rent” or BFR (or “build to rent” or BTR). Often constructed in suburban areas with low crime and near good schools, BFR homes attract those who want the lifestyle of a house — but the affordability or convenience of renting. Over the past few years, however, large investment groups — like Home Partners of America or Invitation Homes — have got into buying up existing single-family homes to rent. Miller said demand for BFR homes is strong and suit a modern way of living involving remote work, lifestyle moves and delayed homeownership. Even as a small portion of the market, those BFR homes that are being built are not the smaller, more affordable homes that middle-income earners are looking for.
