Sam Altman is aiming to raise as much as $7 trillion to significantly increase the world's supply of semiconductor chips, The Wall Street Journal reported. The OpenAI chief has been talking to prospective investors including the United Arab Emirates government about his proposals to help solve the global chip shortage. One potential backer Altman's been courting is the UAE's Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed al Nahyan, with the pair meeting recently, the Journal reported, citing unnamed sources. Altman is said to be presenting his idea as a partnership with OpenAI, chip makers, and investors who can finance GPU chip plants. The world’s largest chipmaker will build a second semiconductor fabrication plant, or fab, in the country in “response to rising customer demand,” TSMC said in a statement Tuesday. Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM), a subsidiary majority-owned by TSMC, plans to start construction by the end of 2024, it added. A short film detailing the making of the "last Beatles song" was published to the band's official YouTube channel Wednesday and has already gained more than 1.4 million views. Lennon recorded a demo of the song with piano and vocals at his home in New York two years before he was murdered in 1980. Work on completing the song revived more than two decades later, when director Peter Jackson was producing the mammoth eight-hour Beatles documentary "Get Back." Artificial intelligence software — which Jackson used to clean up archive footage in the film — isolated Lennon's voice on "Now And Then," removed background noise and improved sound quality.

Russia deployed upgraded glide bombs on eastern Ukraine, the Institute for the Study of War noted. The bombs are upgraded versions of the FAB-250, FAB-500, and FAB-1500, named after their respective weights in kilograms. FAB bombs are a Soviet design, and variants without upgraded guidance have been seen deployed in Ukraine before. FAB-500-type aircraft bombs found by Ukrainian forces on the 10th day of Russian attacks on Ukraine in Chernihiv, Ukraine on March 5, 2022. Russia pummeled Ukraine with 40 glide bombs in just one night in early October in the eastern Kherson region, he said.
