Researchers analyzed data from nearly 15,000 people who wore activity monitors and had their blood pressure tracked, according to the study published Wednesday in the journal Circulation. As little as five more minutes a day of exercise was associated with lower blood pressure, and just 10 to 20 minutes more as linked to a clinically meaningful change in blood pressure (defined as a reduction of 2mmHg of systolic blood pressure or 1mmHg of diastolic blood pressure), Blodgett said. Even five minutes more of exercise is associated with lower blood pressure, the study said. The answer for better blood pressure may be more than just a walk in the park, however.

Gates, 69, told LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman during an episode of the "Possible" podcast that published on Wednesday. — even though those types of topics aren't always top of mind for most Americans. It's "one of the most important questions ever," Gates wrote, adding: "It is hard to think of a measure of how a society is doing that reveals more than whether it is protecting its children, and especially its most vulnerable children," Gates wrote. Malnutrition probably isn't a top concern for the average person living in an area that's relatively unaffected by the issue, Gates told Hoffman.

Amazon's customers are buying cheap products, the retailer's top execs said in its Thursday earnings call. Amazon reported a strong third quarter, beating earnings expectations. While these items "often have a lower average selling price," Olsavsky said that these buying patterns are still a net positive for Amazon. Representatives for Amazon did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, sent outside business hours. Its net sales for the quarter hit $158.9 billion, outperforming analyst expectations of $157.3 billion.
