In February, Campo launched The Hollywood Assistant, a free newsletter that recently released its sixth edition. REUTERS/Mario AnzuoniLOS ANGELES, May 4 (Reuters) - The group representing Hollywood studios fired back on Thursday at claims from striking film and television workers that they have been forced into the "gig economy" because of changes brought by the streaming TV era. Roughly 11,500 members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike on Tuesday, saying that studios had "created a gig economy inside a union workforce." Most TV writers, the group said, are employed on a weekly orepisodic basis, with a guarantee of a specified number of weeks or episodes. Writers say they are working more and making less as studios have shifted their focus to streaming over traditional TV and cable.

These two episodes—where they’ll take home the aforementioned fitness tracking rings, weighted Bala Bangle wristbands and Ms. Barrymore’s favorite JanSport backpack—are the first time they’ve been allowed to forgo face masks. “When we signed up to do this show in 2019, there were high expectations,” Ms. Barrymore recalls, from her mostly pink dressing room. “When we launched in the pandemic, there was a lot of disappointment. I don’t really identify with smoothness, I identify a lot more with struggle.”

CNN —It sounds like things are still hot in the kitchen with Ina Garten and her husband of more than 50 years. According to multiple reports, the “Barefoot Contessa” confirmed to Drew Barrymore during an upcoming appearance on the latter’s daytime talk show that her husband Jeffrey sends her “love texts.”“And sometimes they go astray,” Garten said. Turns out that Jeffrey, who she’s been married to for 53 years, may not have checked the receiver on those texts. “She was like, ‘Woah.’ She sent back, ‘I don’t think this was meant for me.’”Her husband makes frequent appearances on her Food Network series, “Barefoot Contessa.” The couple will celebrate their 54th anniversary in December. Food Network is owned by CNN’s parent company.

“It’s fascinating how people seek queerness — and where they seek queerness,” Fuller added. Murnau’s “Faust” and “Nosferatu,” such moments of levity keep viewers engaged while they’re soaking up early Hollywood’s rich queer history. “Whether you’re ideologically queer or sexually queer, you might relate to the monster’s narrative, because you, too, have felt ‘outsidered’ or villainized in some way.” Bryan fuller, 'queer for fear' executive producer“The Dracula costume kit is basically drag. So this, to me, is the experience of being a gay man.”As Alaska’s assessment demonstrates, “Queer for Fear” isn’t interested in just exploring how horror has provided a haven for queer creatives. Because of the Hays Code, LGBTQ creators and those, like Hitchcock, who wanted to include those themes had to do so through subtext, which counterintuitively gave birth to some of the most essential queer horror ever made.
