Just a 25-minute drive east from the city center is Gokarna Forest Resort, a five-star luxury retreat and golf course embedded within 470 acres of protected sanctuary jungle, sheltering a rich array of wildlife. Though a golf course had been present since 1999, the development saw it blossom into the undulating 6,755 yard, 18-hole setup that sits as the crown jewel of the resort today. “The uniqueness of the golf course is what really inspires me, and I have been to at least 200 or 250 golf courses around the world. CNN —Irish actor Barry Keoghan has hit back at “disgusting” online trolls who comment on his parenting, saying they “sicken” him and make him “furious.”The “Saltburn” star spoke extensively about the damaging impact of online trolling in a wide-ranging interview on “The Louis Theroux Podcast” released on Tuesday. He also spoke candidly about his acting career, his time in foster homes as a child and, briefly, his relationship with singer Sabrina Carpenter. “People kind of have a judgment on me as a parent,” said Keoghan, who shares a 2-year-old son named Brando with his ex-partner. “I’m like, well until you’ve walked a day in my shoes growing up as a kid, then you can comment… There’s a lot online. Target released an update to its app to curb a shopper behavior workers call the "double tap." Workers previously said drive-up order customers caused chaos by waiting until arrival to tap a button saying they were en route. Whether by accident or on purpose, hundreds of Target drive-up customers using the retailer's mobile app arrive each day in the stores' parking lots before hitting the "I'm on my way" button. Now, following a mobile app released last week, shoppers will no longer be able to "double-tap" their drive-up orders. The company confirmed the change to Business Insider and said it continues to look for ways to improve the app for both workers and customers.

Legal experts told NBC News that the disclosure could have legal fallout for Musk across multiple jurisdictions under laws designed to protect consumers from deceptive practices. Chris Gober, a lawyer for America PAC, made the disclosure at a hearing about the giveaways. Elon Musk awarded Kristine Fishell a $1 million check at a town hall in Pittsburgh on Oct. 20. Typically under state law, “this is actually bread and butter stuff for them,” he said in a direct message. The Justice Department, which had warned Musk’s super PAC that its offer may run afoul of federal election law, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Regardless of who wins Tuesday’s election, a key fixture of America’s political landscape for nearly a decade is set to disappear: the Trump rally. “It’s coming to an end,” Trump said in a phone interview with NBC News on Sunday. Elon Musk’s posts on his social media platform X get far more attention when they cast doubt on the integrity of the electoral process, an NBC News analysis has found. The difference in reach was vast: 5.2 times more likes, 4.2 times more comments and 9.1 times more reposts, when comparing the median election-doubting post to the median election post that didn’t cast doubt on the process. In addition to owning X, Musk is its biggest account, with more than 202 million followers, according to the app’s tally of his following. X has developed a clear tilt in favor of far-right users and posts since Musk bought it two years ago, according to researchers. Musk told an editor at The Atlantic in July that he would “of course” accept the results of the presidential election, according to the magazine.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to decide a thorny legal dispute from Louisiana involving the state's effort to draw a congressional district map while navigating claims it is unlawfully considering race. One lawsuit claimed that the state had to draw a map containing two majority Black districts to comply with the federal Voting Rights Act. A federal court struck the new map down, but with time running out to finalize the congressional districts before this year’s elections, state officials successfully asked the Supreme Court to put the lower court decision on hold in May. The Supreme Court has a 6-3 conservative majority that, in a surprising move, buttressed the federal Voting Rights Act in 2023 in another racial gerrymandering case involving the congressional map in Alabama. The court will hear oral arguments and issue a ruling in the Louisiana case during its current term, which ends in June.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is engaging in a war of attrition in Ukraine. AdvertisementKamala Harris and Donald Trump have starkly different visions of how they'll seek to end one of the gravest security crises in recent decades: the Ukraine war. North Korea is also believed to have sent thousands of troops to aid Russia in its war against Ukraine, per officials from South Korea, Ukraine, and the US. It's a war Putin has staked Russia's economic future on, underlining the importance of victory for the Russian leader. China is observing the Ukraine conflict closely as it weighs whether to launch an invasion of US-ally Taiwan.

The only thing that matters is getting to 270 electoral votes through the Electoral College. Meanwhile, 219 electoral votes seem to be leaning in the former president’s direction. Closing off the ‘blue wall’Looking at those battleground states, Harris has the easier path than Trump to getting to 270 electoral votes. She could win by corralling Michigan (15 electoral votes), Pennsylvania (19 electoral votes) and Wisconsin (10 electoral votes). “It could completely reshape our understanding of the solar system and of other planetary systems, and how we fit into that context. Brown and his colleague, planetary scientist Konstantin Batygin, reported having strong evidence of a hidden planet on the fringes of our solar system. “If you look at these bodies, their lifetimes are tiny compared to the age of the solar system,” Batygin said. “By now, we expected to have found many more of these extreme trans-Neptunian objects,” Sheppard said in an email. Finding a smaller planet would also spark excitement, Rice added, because every solar system planet is immensely useful for extrapolating information about the thousands of comparable exoplanets that researchers are uncovering across the galaxy.

Why social media shouldn’t be your therapist

Her book “Over the Influence: Why Social Media Is Toxic for Women and Girls — And How We Can Take It Back” was recently published by Alcove Press. It’s easy to see why: There’s a shortage of mental health providers, and it’s often expensive and difficult to get an appointment, whereas social media is at everyone’s fingertips. But it’s generally not a good idea to try to diagnose your problems on social media. Misleading posts and misdiagnosesSelf-help posts on social media often serve up simple solutions to complex problems. That’s why experts said answers are likelier to be found on an old-fashioned therapist’s sofa than social media.

Israel carried out a series of precision strikes on military targets in Iran late last month. AdvertisementIran is signaling that it will deliver a harsh response to Israel's late-October strikes, which were revenge for Tehran's retaliatory ballistic missile attack at the start of the month. However, another direct Iranian attack on Israel — which would be its third ever — invites additional Israeli strikes at a time when Tehran is dangerously unprepared. Israel struck several S-300s, a Russian-made surface-to-air missile system considered to be the most advanced air-defense battery that Iran operates. He said last week that the strikes on Iran's air-defense network create "a huge disadvantage for the enemy when we will want to strike later."

Harris cannot afford much slippage with these groups, which are full of low-propensity voters who need encouragement to turn out. Here are five keys to a Trump victoryBut will that curiosity materialize into actual votes for Trump at the ballot box? They could give Harris a crucial boost because these voters tend to reliably turn out in election after election. After Harris became the nominee, support from Asian American women jumped to 72%. Support from Asian American men also increased, but not as drastically, sitting now at 59%. Though not nearly as strong as Harris’ pull on Asian women, there are factors that might be siphoning Asian men, Ramakrishnan said. Trump has made marginal gains among Asian men too, he said, but Harris’ draw on both groups far outweighs it. “AAPI women and South Asian women view abortion access as health care,” said Varun Nikore, executive director of the nonprofit AAPI Victory Alliance.

All three titles are expected to thrive at the box office, both during their openings and as they run through the rest of the year. The physical screens are often bigger than traditional movie screens or have auditoriums that feature higher-quality sound systems or seating options. These screens account for 9.1% of the domestic box office, around $600 million in 2024. PLF receipts still represent a small portion of the overall box office, with most audiences seeing films on traditional digital screens. However, it's no small feat that PLF box office has grown 33% in just five years.
