BEREA, Ohio — Suspended Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s status with the NFL has not been affected by a new civil lawsuit filed by a woman accusing him of sexual misconduct two years ago, the league said Friday. Watson is serving an 11-game suspension for alleged sexual misconduct while he played for the Houston Texans. On Thursday, the woman filed a lawsuit in Texas that alleges Watson pressured her into performing a sex act after a massage in 2020. Watson is only permitted to attend meetings with the Browns and work out as he moves toward a possible return, according to the suspension imposed by the NFL. The Browns traded for Watson in March and signed him to a five-year, $240 million contract.
Venerable Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane, best known as the dragon-loving half-giant Hagrid from the "Harry Potter" film franchise, died on Friday, his managers said. LOS ANGELES — Angelina Jolie accused former husband Brad Pitt of choking one of their children during a volatile trans-Atlantic flight in 2016, according to a complaint she filed Tuesday. The filing, seen by NBC News, was a cross-complaint Jolie aimed at Pitt. Jolie maintained in the complaint, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, that she was never under restrictions about whom she could sell the property to. “At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children. “Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done.”Diana Dasrath reported from Los Angeles and David K. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the home around 4 p.m. for a death investigation, the department said. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office will officially release the identity, officials said. No foul play is suspected, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said. Coolio was also known for hits including "Fantastic Voyage," "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)" and "C U When U Get There," among others.

Canadian actor Robert Cormier, who appeared in the drama "Heartland" has died at the age of 33. The actor died Friday in Etobicoke, Ontario, according to his obituary. Cormier died in the hospital of injuries he sustained in a fall, his sister told his talent agent’s office. LOS ANGELES — A woman who accused comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears of coercing her and a brother into recording sexually explicit skits when they were children filed a request Tuesday to dismiss the claim. The woman, identified in the original claim as Jane Doe, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Six days after the lawsuit was filed, Haddish posted a message on Instagram expressing regret for her role in one of the comedy pieces. The lawsuit alleged that the skit involved Haddish's teaching Jane Doe how to mimic fellatio on a sub sandwich. His mother repeatedly asked Spears and Haddish about “what was filmed that made her son cry,” the suit alleged.
Country singer Luke Bell died as a result of an accidental fentanyl overdose, according to a report issued Monday from the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office. The “Where Ya Been?” singer was found dead by a passerby in a shaded area of a parking lot in Tucson, Arizona, on Aug. 26, according to officials. "In consideration of the known circumstances surrounding this death, the available medical history, and the examination of the remains, the cause of death is ascribed to fentanyl intoxication," the medical examiner's report said. The investigation into Bell’s death is ongoing, according to the Tucson Police Department. Bell, a Cody, Wyoming, native, had been a ranch hand and spent “a few years of college” in Laramie before pursuing his musical career, according to a Spotify bio.
