The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star, 43, wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and would not have discovered it if her physician, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, had not calculated her breast cancer risk score. A breast cancer risk assessment tool uses a statistical model to estimate a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer over the next five years as well as over her lifetime, or up to about age 90, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two models are commonly used as breast cancer risk assessment tools: the Gail Model and the Tyrer-Cuzick Risk Assessment Calculator. An online version of the breast cancer risk assessment tool, using the Gail Model, is available for anyone to take at bcrisktool.cancer.gov. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Doc Rivers left broadcasting behind when he took over as the Milwaukee Bucks’ coach at midseason, but he remains as talkative as ever. That chattiness has helped the Bucks dramatically improve their defense since his arrival in late January. The Bucks have won six straight games and own the NBA’s best defensive rating since the All-Star break. The Bucks have improved defensively even without three-time All-Star Khris Middleton, who has missed 11 straight games with a sprained left ankle. Rivers believes the Bucks’ defense can get even better.

Here are her two favorite questions to ask in a job interview that will help you uncover any major red flags, and maybe a few green ones, before you accept an offer. Ask about them in your next job interview, says Christine Cruzvergara, chief education officer at Handshake. Cruzvergara's first favorite question gets down to brass tacks: What are some of the unspoken rules in this workplace? Cruzvergara learned during her job interview at Handshake that it's a "doc- and deck-heavy culture." These types of rules are rarely brought up proactively in job interviews, Cruzvergara says, but can tell you a lot about a team's communication and collaboration style.

Many workers have expressed fears that the technology will show up at the office like a young gun coming for their job. Williams expects some of the biggest gains from AI won't center on what companies and workers are doing now. Instead, he sees major wins coming from what workers aren't doing but that AI could. Filling in when help is scarceOne reason jobs sometimes aren't getting done is because there aren't always enough workers. If AI could be deployed to help with this work, the time the task takes might get cut in half, Holding said.

Does your dog need a coat?

But all this begs the question: Does your dog need a coat? From high-fashion to high-performanceThere’s evidence of dog fashion and clothing throughout history — from the ancient Egyptians and 19th-century Paris dog boutiques to early 20th-century photographs of dogs wearing clothes. Prada's Re-Nylon puffer dog coat with hood comes in two colors and three sizes, $825 From PradaBut the transition from Fifth Avenue high-end and high fashion to high-performance and technical function has certainly accelerated in recent decades. Doberman Pinschers — along with sleek breeds like Greyhounds and Whippets — are prime candidates for dog coats because of their short hair, thin skin and minimal body fat. “Make sure the coat fits well for safety and they’re supervised while wearing the coat.

On Friday, just outside Palm Springs, Calif., you might have thought a strange mirage had appeared: One or two zillion tweens descended upon an arena, all wearing platform Doc Martens. Had some official communiqué been issued, at a frequency undetectable to those older than 25? Had everyone been subconsciously nudged to pair boots with fishnets and leg warmers? No one seemed to care that it was hot out. What did matter was that the boots, punky symbols of past musical rebellions, were central to the unofficial-but-conspicuously-official uniform of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour, which began that night.

But as Mr. Roy entered his 30s, his priorities began to shift. He spent a long time ruminating over the ethics of having children, then decided that he wanted some of his own. In December 2021, Mr. Roy put together an online dating bio, otherwise known as a “date-me doc,” and encouraged people to share it online. (Mr. Roy chose that wording so it wouldn’t rule out adoption.)

Or try something less invasive that would not "cure" my cancer but allow me to enjoy the summer with my two young kids? I'd first been diagnosed with Stage 3 bladder cancer in mid-2020. Bladder removal — the medical term is cystectomy, and about 25% of bladder cancer patients end up undergoing this procedure — means living with a "diversion," a kind of tube that routes urine out of your body. I didn't want to be the sick dad who couldn't show up to ball games and chorus concerts, who couldn't go on hikes or bike rides. As a journalist, I had no fear of calling up random doctors who were practicing a newer technique called "bladder preservation," even in complex cases of bladder cancer, as mine was, using combinations of drugs and surveillance.
