But in recent years, some universities have downgraded the importance of English, either by replacing the national College English Test with their own exams or – as in the case of the Xi’an Jiaotong University – dropping English qualifications altogether as a graduation criteria. ESPN has held talks with some of the most powerful leagues in professional sports, including the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball, about taking a minority stake in its business. It echoes 1,000 years of antisemitic conspiracy theories that Jews are responsible for, yet somehow immune to, plagues and disease – beliefs that led to actual Jews being murdered by angry mobs. No, of course, we’re in Washington, DC, where politics dictates how antisemitism is, or isn’t, tolerated by those with something to gain from it. Really, it was only a matter of time before RFK Jr. stumbled into overt antisemitism. Without exaggeration, many of my Jewish friends have remarked that this mainstreaming of antisemitism reminds them of 1930s Germany. There is no equivalence between a strident anti-Israel remark and the resurrection of age-old antisemitic conspiracy theories.

Marriott and MGM Resorts International announced a partnership Monday to link their loyalty programs and give customers more options for cashing in. Under the deal, MGM guests in the United States can earn Marriott Bonvoy rewards points and Bonvoy members will in turn have access to 17 MGM properties when they spend their points. Those loyalty programs drive business and help to differentiate competitors at a time when travel is continuing to rebound from a pandemic pause. Marriott CEO Tony Capuano said MGM Resorts brings a wealth of intellectual property to the portfolio as well as entertainment, high-end culinary options and other one-of-a-kind experiences. Customers of MGM's sportsbook will earn Bonvoy points on some transactions, and Bonvoy members will see MGM sportsbooks marketing on the Marriott site.

Singapore is the most expensive city for living in luxury, per a report by the Julius Baer Group. Rent, house prices, school fees, taxes on cars, and living expenses are all high in the city-state. Singapore pushed Shanghai off the podium, marking the first time the Asian city-state topped the ranking.
