Read previewWhen the pandemic hit, young families fled cities across the US in droves. Overall, domestic out-migration from big cities is still double the rate it was pre-pandemic. "This data is three years out from the start of the pandemic, cities have started to recover robustly on a bunch of different measures." Families with kids under six years old are more than twice as likely to leave New York City than families without young kids, the Fiscal Policy Institute found. Some exurbs — particularly in the pro-development Sunbelt — are seeing young families flood in.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor speaks during a service for retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor in the Great Hall at the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 18, 2023. Marshal tasked with protecting Supreme Court justices' homes shot an alleged armed carjacker near the Washington residence of Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor last week, authorities said Tuesday. The suspect, 18-year-old Kentrell Flowers of Southeast D.C., allegedly pulled a handgun on the marshal, who was in a parked car in the Northwest section of the city around 1:15 a.m. The marshal drew his own gun and "fired several shots at the suspect," the MPD said. Another marshal in a separate vehicle also fired at Flowers, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The New York Times reported that an expert on Parkinson's disease regularly visited the White House. In a Monday letter, Joe Biden's physician said the expert's visits weren't for the president. Dr. Kevin Cannard hosted neurology clinics for active-duty White House staff, per Biden's doctor. AdvertisementIn a letter released late Monday, Joe Biden's physician said the reason a Parkinson's expert visited the White House monthly was to host routine neurology clinics for active-duty staff. Kevin O'Connor, Biden's physician, wrote the letter to address reporting by The New York Times about the repeated visits by Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist specializing in movement disorders.

Before Dr. Kevin O’Connor was appointed White House physician at the beginning of the Biden administration, he discussed a business venture with the president’s brother James Biden, but the doctor ultimately received no compensation, Mr. Biden’s lawyer said. The discussions revolved around James Biden’s involvement with a health care company called Americore, which was looking to expand a network of hospitals in underserved rural areas of the United States. Republicans have seized on the episode to suggest that Dr. O’Connor might have had incentive to minimize issues related to President Biden’s health. The White House rejected the speculation, with a spokesman calling it “ridiculous and insulting.”In his current role, Dr. O’Connor produced letters each of the three years following Mr. Biden’s physicals that attested the president was healthy and “fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.” The assessments have come under renewed scrutiny in recent weeks as Mr. Biden’s decline has become more apparent, particularly after his feeble performance in last month’s debate against former President Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.

Read previewJoe Biden is facing mounting pressure to prove he's medically fit to run for a second term, but experts say a cognitive test could set a dangerous precedent. Speaking on CBS's "Face the Nation," Sen. Lindsey Graham said all presidential nominees, including Biden and Trump, should take a cognitive test. Cognitive tests are usually quick and simple and can check for functions such as concentration, abstract thinking, language, and memory. He told ABC's Stephanopoulos on Friday: "I have a cognitive test every single day." According to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, after Biden's physical in February, his doctors decided he didn't need a cognitive test.

CNN —President Joe Biden saw a neurologist at the White House in January as part of his annual physical, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a new statement Tuesday evening, correcting her comment from earlier in the day that the specialist’s visit earlier this year had not been related to the president. “It was one of the three times the President has seen Dr. Cannard, each time for his physical. The findings from each exam have been released to the public.”Jean-Pierre had been asked in Tuesday’s White House press briefing whether neurologist Dr. Kevin Cannard’s meeting with the president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, on January 17 was “related to care for the president himself.” (CNN previously confirmed via White House visitors’ logs that the two men had met in January at the White House.) Cannard was listed on the White House visitors logs multiple times over the past year, but only once – in January – shown to have met with O’Connor. The reason for that particular visit had been a focus of multiple questions in Monday’s White House press briefing.

"Look, I have a cognitive test every day," he said in an interview on Friday with ABC News. Samuel Corum/Getty ImagesCompared to Trump, Biden has released far more comprehensive medical information, with the most recent update coming in February of 2024. One cognitive test is not sufficient to detect issues, doctors told the Wall Street Journal. In it, Dr. Bruce Aronwald said that he has conducted "several comprehensive examinations" and called Trump's cognitive exams "exceptional." Like Biden, though, Trump has made significant public gaffes, such as when he called the president of Egypt the "president of Mexico."

In June, 51 million people tuned in to watch the much-anticipated debate between Biden and former President Donald Trump. Biden later told ABC that he “just had a really bad cold” on debate night and said he was distracted by Trump “still shouting” over his muted microphone while Biden was speaking. Last November, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, Trump’s personal physician since 2021, issued a meager, three-paragraph, data-devoid note attesting to Trump’s physical and cognitive fitness for office. While the USPSTF review is noncommittal on the use of dementia screening in ostensibly asymptomatic people, there’s no ambiguity in the use of testing in adults where dementia is a concern. There are a variety of screening exams such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) or Mini-Mental State Examination that are used to detect signs of cognitive decline.

Washington CNN —A top Parkinson’s disease specialist held a meeting with President Joe Biden’s physician at the White House earlier this year, according to records, though the circumstances of the meeting are unclear. Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, met with White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor at the White House in mid-January, according to White House visitor logs. Cannard has visited the White House at least eight times over the past year, according to the logs, beginning last August and ending with the March 28 meeting. Publicly available profiles name Cannard as a neurology specialist supporting the White House Medical Unit. Both the White House and Biden have repeatedly been asked about tests and doctors visits in the months before the debate and the moments after.

Biden was examined by his physician after the debate to check on a cold, the White House said, but it was a “brief check” and not a physical. Biden and his aides have said it was a “bad night.” The White House press team said Biden had a cold but did not take any medications to treat symptoms. The White House has rejected requests from the press to release more medical records and question Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor. Instead, we got four more bad films, ending with "Terminator: Dark Fate." "Terminator: Dark Fate" Paramount"Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," both directed by James Cameron, are two of the best action movies of all time. "Judgment Day" also ends on a definitive note, with our heroes preventing the evil computer system known as Skynet from ever being invented. And "Terminator Genisys" fully ignores all the events of the previous films and is yet another reboot. "Dark Fate" is certainly better than the three previous films, but it was ultimately unnecessary and, according to Screen Rant, was a huge box-office bomb.
