The black comedy “The Menu” is a wicked treat aimed at those who roll their eyes whenever foodies refer to a steak as “the protein,” stop mid-bite to say things like “I’m getting bergamot here” or lasciviously photograph their meals. Like the similarly themed “Triangle of Sadness” earlier this fall, “The Menu” is a darkly misanthropic fable, recalling the lacerating sensibility of mad European art movies of the 1960s and ’70s. Though its black comedy is a bit nonsensical in spots, it’s certainly one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of the year.
