The University of Colorado football team had the dubious honor of being the worst among major conferences in 2022. The Buffs won a single game and lost the remaining 11 by an average of more than 32 points. Yet Colorado has already sold out of season tickets for the 2023 campaign. The athletic department expects more than 45,000 fans at Folsom Field for the team’s Black & Gold Day on Saturday. And the Buffs’ spring game will be the only one ESPN televises on its main channel during the offseason.

However, Colorado jumped to an early lead of 10 points then exchanged the advantage with the visitors throughout the second half. "The Woman King" and "Till" got zero nominations for this year's Academy Awards. The snubs show Hollywood still undervalues Black creatives, especially Black women. The film led box-office charts when it debuted in September, and had some in Hollywood expecting the movie to nab spots for best picture, best director, or best actress. And this is the second year in a row in which no Black woman was nominated for the best actress trophy. For critics, the snubs of "The Woman King" and "Till" are proof that the Academy still doesn't give Black talent, particularly Black women, a fair chance to be recognized.
GOOD SCENTS Historically, fragrance brands have been opaque in their labeling—but that’s changing as the consumer demand for ‘clean’ and ‘natural’ products shows no sign of slowing. But while most resolution-makers have to curb indulgences, perfume buffs who pledge to commit to “natural” scents can still revel in sensuality. In this era of greenwashing it’s easy to market a fragrance as “clean” or “natural,” but nailing down what those terms mean can be tricky. As with the rest of the “clean beauty” landscape, no standard definition of a clean fragrance exists. Generally speaking, however, “natural” usually refers to scents made from raw, not synthetic, ingredients, while “clean” often denotes those that forgo additives like artificial dyes, sulfates and preservatives.
In exchange for as little as a few thousand dollars in contributions to the nonprofit, these people received easy access to events where Supreme Court justices would be. Supreme Court Historical society trustee Jay Sekulow, center, represented President Trump during the latter's impeachment trial in 2020. Anti-abortion advocates cheer in front of the Supreme Court after the decision in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores was announced in 2014. Alito did not respond to a request for comment on his involvement in the Supreme Court Historical Society. Supreme Court justices, though, aren't even required to stay within those weak guardrails because no code of ethics governs justices' behavior.

Santa Claus might have skipped over Wall Street this holiday season. At the start of every new year, market buffs watch stocks to see if they notch what is known as a Santa Claus rally. The trend refers to the tendency for U.S. stocks to rise during the period comprising the last five trading sessions of a year and first two of the next year.
SINGAPORE, Dec 20 (Reuters) - To borrow from Britain's Queen Elizabeth, 2022 is not a year on which the cryptocurrency world shall look back with undiluted pleasure. Crashes, contagion, collapses came in such quick succession that investors were, towards the end of the year, asking serious existential questions. After all, the largest cryptocurrency, bitcoin , has not kept its head above water for more than a week at a time, and is down about three-quarters from last November's $69,000 peak. What some saw as the final nail in the crypto coffin was the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX exchange last month. Rather, 2022 has become the "I-told-you-so" case for regulators, who've largely maintained an arm's length from the crypto world or even banned trading in cryptocurrencies.

No film is a failure if it has fansWhat’s long delighted film historians is the fact that when “It’s a Wonderful Life” debuted, it was largely deemed a wash. As film historian Jeanine Basinger writes in her compendium, “The It’s A Wonderful Life Book,” the original idea for the film languished for years before the studio RKO sold it to Capra in 1945 for a mere $10,000. Deion Sanders is reportedly leaving Jackson State after three years as head coach, ESPN says. College football fans shared mixed reactions to Sanders leaving SWAC, a conference made up of HBCU sports teams. Some criticized the former NFL star for using Jackson State as "a launching pad for his coaching career" while others congratulated him on the new Power 5 position. Similar concerns have been raised around Sanders' son and Jackson State's quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, potentially following his father to Colorado. Sanders is said to be announcing his alleged departure from Jackson State after Saturday's game.
Insider's Bianca Chan explored this trend with a piece on how cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud are reimagining themselves as business consultants. Many of the biggest cloud providers have stood up teams focused on interfacing with the C-suite to advise them on how a move to the cloud can be an opportunity to overhaul things. It's not hard to see how this could end up being big business for the cloud providers. Cloud providers still have a long way to go to be a real threat to consultants, but there is potential there. Martin Scorsese presents GONCHAROV. In 2020, another Tumblr user reblogged the post with a screenshot of a comment that read, "this idiot hasn't seen goncharov." The New York Times reports that "Goncharov" was the top trending topic on Tumblr by Monday evening, followed by "Martin Scorsese." "The goncharov bit on tumblr right now is one of the insane things I eve ever seen," Twitter user @gwenstacying said. Martin Scorsese is in on the joke.
In 2019, Martin Scorsese said that Marvel movies were “not cinema” and worried cinema was being “invaded” by them. As it happens, I’m not a fan of Marvel films either. For almost the entire history of movies, women haven’t had access to the capital required to make them. There were at least 15 women directors in the commercial film industry during that time. That’s dismal but more than twice as high as the number of female film directors of the same era.
Two years later, Bautista and hundreds of thousands of other FTX customers are in limbo, shocked and unsure what happens next. FTX has paused customer withdrawals, and there’s growing doubt that customers will be able to recover any of their assets. “It’s lost at this point.”Bautista, 34, got the FTX itch thanks in part to flashy advertising. FTX, boosted by celebrities like NFL giant Tom Brady and pumped up by Silicon Valley bigwigs, struck Bautista as the most reliable crypto platform on the market. The firm has started the process of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Bankman-Fried has resigned — and Bautista lost access to his crypto portfolio.

Over 26,000 runners have registered to run the 42.195-km (26.2-mile) route on Nov. 6, in what would be the first Beijing marathon in two years after being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID-19. The Beijing Marathon is celebrating its 40th year this month since its inception in 1981, a year late because of last year's cancellation. Palestinian volunteers participate in organising the sixth edition of the Red Carpet Film Festival, at a newly renovated theatre in Gaza City, October 13, 2022. While Gazans have been able to go to movie screenings which are held from time to time at theatres and other venues, such a full bill of films is a rare treat. The festival's executive manager, Montaser Al-Sabe said he was proud of the festival in Gaza but that he hoped cinemas would open up again. "Cinema is a civilised and important means to get the voice of children and the people of Gaza to the world." But for some, the festival will be all about the simple pleasure of going to the cinema and watching a movie with loved ones.
New York CNN Business —HBO has created a kingdom of hits, with none as popular as “Game of Thrones.” But “Game of Thrones” ended with a thud in 2019 when critics and fans were unhappy with the fantasy epic’s ho-hum conclusion (Bran Stark on the Iron Throne? Create more “Game of Thrones,” of course. Enter “House of the Dragon,” a prequel that takes place almost 200 years before the events of its predecessor and focuses on the Targaryen family. To put that number into context, season seven of “Game of Thrones” averaged 32.7 million viewers per episode, and season 8, its final season, averaged 46 million viewers. (It doesn’t hurt that “Game of Thrones” is pretty much like watching sports, albeit with more dragons.)
Kayla Lopez’s kids, meanwhile, just need to pull on their Michael Myers masks to feel invincible. “I don’t really know of anybody that likes horror as much as them, honestly,” she said.
