US Steel and Nippon Steel both indicated in statements that they’re open to legal fights to get the deal approved, no matter what actions is announced by Biden. The mega-deal will create a global snacks behemoth, adding a bevy of new nibbles to Mars’ portfolio of brands, which includes Snickers, M&M’s, and the Mars bar. “The Kellanova brands significantly expand our snacking platform, allowing us to even more effectively meet consumer needs and drive profitable business growth,” Andrew Clarke, global president of Mars Snacking, said in a statement. CNN —The Dallas Cowboys have become the first professional sports team to be valued at over $10 billion, according to Sportico’s 2024 NFL rankings that were released on Tuesday. The Cowboys, owned by Jerry Jones, were valued at $10.32 billion, far and away the most valuable franchise in the league and an increase of over a billion dollars on the previous estimate of $9.2 billion in February. The Cowboys remain immensely popular though, generating an estimated revenue of $1.2 billion in 2023, 50% higher than the second ranked NFL team, the Los Angeles Rams, according to Sportico. The Rams are valued at $7.79 billion and leapfrogged the New York Giants to take second place but are not in the same stratosphere as Dallas. Per Sportico’s research, the average NFL franchise is worth $5.93 billion, an improvement of 15.4% over last year, as the league continues to be the world’s most financially successful in any sport in terms of team value.

What's different for crypto this time around from prior sell-offs is that many more investors are vulnerable due to the newly launched spot crypto ETFs. Bitcoin ETFs started trading in January, followed by ether funds last month. Across all spot bitcoin ETFs, there were net outflows of around $168 million. Monday's outflows are a fraction of the more than $50 billion market cap of the funds. Within spot ether ETFs, more than $48 million was added across all the funds.

In its fiscal third-quarter earnings report to investors in late June, pharmacy chain Walgreens announced plans to close a "significant" number of its 8,600 U.S. stores. "Pharmacy chains used to really be the heart of communities," said GlobalData retail managing director Neil Saunders. Walgreens leans heavily on its back-of-store pharmacy revenue to make up for weakness in retail, an arena which itself has struggled with shrinking margins. "CVS has sized this at about a billion dollars a year, and CVS and Walgreens have kind of similar-sized pharmacies."
