While Pinterest boards offer style inspiration, some young people are using the Notes app instead. There, they can upload photos of their own wardrobe and outfits and plan looks based on clothes they already have. You can use a generic title like "Outfits" or name your note based on a trip or occasion. Since I'm not going on a trip soon, I sorted some past outfits based on which season they're best suited for. As someone who tends to plan her outfits about an hour before walking out of the door in them, I was skeptical of this hack.

According to major forecasts, it looks like it’s going to be an above-average hurricane season. An average Atlantic hurricane season has 14 named storms, including seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes. In 2020, the May forecast was for 13 to 19 named storms, but an updated forecast for August was even higher, with 19 to 25 named storms. This region, from West Africa to Central America, is hotter this year than it was before the start of last year’s hurricane season, which produced 20 named storms. The possibility of a La Niña, combined with record sea surface temperatures this hurricane season, is expected to create a robust environment this year for storms to form and intensify.

There are benefits of living abroad as a family that aren't financialWe took a train ride to Geneva, Switzerland. Because my husband and I can do our jobs remotely, we were able to spend this summer abroad without compromising our professional commitments or paychecks. In a rehearsal room at American Ballet Theater’s studios earlier this month, Alessandra Ferri and Roman Zhurbin paused during a pas de deux, waiting to take their next steps. “Where’s Big Ben?” Ferri asked. It tolls throughout Virginia Woolf’s novel “Mrs Dalloway,” coldly marking and making clear the passage of time. Big Ben plays a similar role in the first part of “Woolf Works,” Wayne McGregor’s full-length ballet that evokes elements of Woolf’s biography and the essence of three novels, including “Mrs. Dalloway.” Having premiered at the Royal Ballet in 2015 to strong reviews, it arrives in New York on Tuesday, as part of Ballet Theater’s Metropolitan Opera House season.

Prepare for a hot hike ahead of timeWhether it’s hot or cool, you should be in reasonable shape before tackling any hike. You can do so by taking short, easy hikes in warm weather, progressing up to longer, more difficult hikes in hot weather. You should carry plenty of water when hiking no matter the season, but especially during hot weather. When in doubt, turn around“If you start your hike and think it’s too hot, it’s too hot,” Martinez said.

President Biden’s economic policies have helped spur billions of dollars in new investments in Arizona and Georgia, two crucial battleground states in the 2024 election. Yet so far, Mr. Biden’s policies appear to have done little to lift his support in either region. Arizona and Georgia have been major beneficiaries of the Biden administration’s key policy initiatives — the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act and the bipartisan infrastructure law. Georgia has been a big beneficiary of Mr. Biden’s clean energy and infrastructure laws. Still, former President Donald J. Trump has maintained a significant lead over Mr. Biden in both states, according to new polls by The New York Times and Siena College.

Arone spoke with Before the Bell to outline three things about markets right now “that investors should know, but probably don’t.”1. You write that investors might be surprised to hear that small- and mid-cap stocks have outperformed large-cap stocks over the past five months. Why do you think that’s surprising, and what does it say about markets? Most investors think that the S&P 500 has been outperforming everything else, largely dragged up by the performance of the Magnificent 7 (Amazon, Tesla, Alphabet, Meta, Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia). The big beneficiaries of that, I think, would be a surprise for most investors — those mid-cap stocks and small-cap stocks.

Elon Musk wants to combine Twitter and Grok, his AI engine, and create a news machine. Musk said Grok will not look directly at article text, and will instead rely solely on social posts. Definitely not in the Elon Musk era of the company formerly known as Twitter. Both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine support the recommendation, saying low-dose aspirin is safe and not likely to cause complications. Despite all the data, too few pregnant women at risk are taking baby aspirin, and too few doctors recommend it. A 2022 study found that Black women are less likely to be told to take baby aspirin, even when they meet the criteria. In addition, only about one in five families surveyed said they were familiar with interventions like baby aspirin. Having had the condition once, Ms. Felix knew she might develop it again during her second pregnancy, so she decided to take baby aspirin.

Why Apple is betting big on India

I think one estimate put, at one point, I think China was producing something like 90% of the world's iPhones. So when we talk about, you know, Apple manufacturing elsewhere, it's going take a long time to significantly ramp up iPhone production elsewhere. And you know, opening a physical Apple store often for Apple is a sign of a big deal. But you know, Apple looking at India going, wow, we've only got 7% of market share there, we could grow huge amounts. And of course, as we know, with Apple, the hardware is the, you know, one side of the equation, but also, you know, Apple makes billions of dollars off of its services business, which includes things like its App Store fees, it's Apple Pay, Apple TV, all of those other products and services.

Nvidia is increasing employee compensation with a stock grant named after CEO Jensen Huang. The "Jensen special grant" awards an additional 25% of the initial stock grant given to employees. The one-off grant is an extra 25% of the initial amount of stock units given to employees when they joined. While the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reduced taxes for most Americans, the rich benefited far more than others. Those who earn $1 million or more would enjoy an average tax cut of about $50,000, raising their after-tax incomes by 2.3%. Their tax cut would be $100, on average, which would bump up their after-tax incomes by 0.5%. The wealthy have already been served well by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which also included multiple corporate tax changes. “Most everybody in every income group got a tax cut, but the highest-income people got by far the biggest tax cut,” said Howard Gleckman, a senior fellow at the center.

Homara is part of the board of directors for the Silicon Valley chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, and she's communications chair for Women Construction Owners and Executives. Women have made strides in the construction field since 2016, when they comprised 12.5% of the industry.
