CNN —A World War II airman who died in 1943 after his aircraft went down over Romania was recently honored at an American cemetery abroad, according to the American Battle Monuments Commission. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced last month Samoski was accounted for, according to a news release from the agency. American Graves Registration Command, which tracked down fallen American personnel, disinterred all American remains from the cemetery after the war, according to the agency. The remains of more than 80 unknowns who could not be identified were recovered and interred at two cemeteries in Belgium. Those remains were then sent from Belgium to an agency laboratory to be examined and identified, the agency said.

Protesters rallied outside Bulgaria’s parliament on Thursday to denounce a controversial legal amendment adopted the day before that bans talk of LGBTQ and so-called nontraditional sexual choices in schools. The amendment bans the “promotion, popularization and support of ideas and opinions related to non-traditional sexual orientation or sexual identification other than biological” in schools. Protesters rally outside Bulgaria's parliament on Thursday in Sofia, Bulgaria. Bulgaria has also declined to ratify the Istanbul Convention on preventing violence against women, because of widespread belief it means to promote LGBTQ rights. Prior to the company’s demise, it had looked like Europe was poised for something of a night train revolution. Despite this demand, the hurdles for startups like Midnight Train trying to enter the market to meet it remain virtually insurmountable. Formidable obstaclesEuropean Sleeper is one of the few new night train operators to begin services, but the company has struggled to find rolling stock. “Politicians must be clear: the night train market will be effectively closed for a very long time,” he says. With the honorable exception of Nightjet, which plans to expand rapidly over the next five years, European night train services have yet to match the hype.

Puigdemont’s lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, confirmed in a RAC1 radio interview that Puigdemont had left Spain and said he would make a public statement “in the coming days”.
