This is something I've been looking forward to as I prepare to run my first marathon on November 3. So I consulted Jena Brown, a sports dietitian specializing in endurance racing, who reviewed my plan for the week and suggested improvements. She told me I should aim for roughly 8-12 grams of carbs a day per kilogram of my body weight. After my shorter runs this week, I got a berry smoothie with 55g carbs and 27g protein (from protein powder). Cut down on fiber, fat, and spiceI used regular, refined flour pasta and blended pesto with cottage cheese to make the sauce.

David, who has maintained his innocence, was acquitted at trial earlier this year of the most serious charges — first- and second-degree murder. David told investigators he didn’t know about Karen’s second phone, but authorities found the device’s number programmed into David’s work phone, the prosecutor said. At the time of Karen’s death, David had reinjured his knee and was on crutches, Taylor said. (Goodman accused David of faking the reinjury and said he was seen moving hay bales the day before the killing.) David is innocent, Ashley said, and she believes her father is being falsely imprisoned while awaiting a new trial.

Equity markets rallied this year, as investors remained bullish on Big Tech but also scooped up shares in under-the-radar companies. Year-to-date, shares in Exxon have gained 16.7%, while the stock of Barrick and Microsoft have gained around 10.8% and 15% respectively. Microsoft Teng remains bullish on Microsoft, despite Wrise making a "partial switch" and reducing its weight in the tech giant while increasing allocations to Nvidia in early August. Reynolds remarked that he doesn't understand the level of work, care and discipline Swift generates to create such an experience. An eighth-inning rally capped by sacrifice flies by second baseman Gavin Lux and outfielder Mookie Betts put the Dodgers in front. This title, the eighth in franchise history, can stand beside the Dodgers’ trophy from the pandemic-shortened season in 2020. The precedent feels preposterous until you consider the current Dodgers who will one day join them in the Hall of Fame. “Mark,” he told Freeman, “wants to win really bad.” That desire became clear to Ohtani when he met with the Dodgers. One member of the women’s volleyball team at San Jose State University has signed on to being part of a federal lawsuit against the NCAA challenging the presence of transgender athletes in women’s college sports. As with other points of dispute in the struggle over gender identity and transgender rights, one thing opposing sides have in common is framing their stance as a matter of what’s fair and right. This political and cultural backdrop makes the attention surrounding the SJSU situation more understandable. Anawalt echoes such an idea — that a resolution to the “fairness” question is muddy, elusive and perhaps ultimately unanswerable.
