Business Insider obtained a recording of Amazon CEO Andy Jassy's latest all-hands meeting. Jassy said Amazon's RTO policy is not a 'backdoor layoff' strategy. The RTO policy aims to strengthen company culture, not cut costs, he said. This is very much about our culture and strengthening our culture," Jassy said, adding that the only city Amazon notified ahead of time about its RTO mandate was Seattle. Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman said in a staff meeting last month that 9 out of 10 Amazon employees he'd spoken with were "excited" by the change.

A Pennsylvania judge on Monday declined an effort by the Philadelphia district attorney to stop Elon Musk’s America PAC from doling out cash prizes to registered voters. The judge's injunction means Musk's PAC will be able to do one last giveaway on Tuesday, the last day of the offer. The America PAC giveaway has promised million-dollar checks to some voters and $47 and $100 payments to other registered voters who signed a political pledge in swing states. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner sued Musk and America PAC last month, alleging that the giveaways were an illegal, unregulated lottery, but at a hearing Monday, America PAC attorney Chris Gober said it wasn’t a lottery because winners aren’t determined by chance. Musk’s legal team delayed this hearing last week, filing to move the case to federal court.

While mortgage rates don't exactly follow the Fed's rate, home equity lines of credit, or HELOCs, are tied to it. "Over the past 10 quarters homeowners have extracted $476B in equity, exactly half the extraction we'd expect to see under more normal circumstances. Homeowners tend to use equity for home repairs, renovation projects and large expenses, such as college tuition. More supply is coming on the market, and primary mortgage rates are higher than they were over the summer.
