Census data released on October 17 indicates that New York recorded the highest rate of people moving out of all 50 states. Business Insider calculated each state's net moving rate by comparing the number of people who moved into and out of each state per 1,000 people. The states people move out of the mostOf all 50 states, New York ranks last with a net moving rate of -9.23. I had plenty of legroom even though I was in a bulkhead seat. The seat was comfortable and roomy, even though it was a bulkhead seat. I'm 6-foot-2 and was able to comfortably cross my legs in my seat, which is just over 20 inches wide. It had the standard center armrest with an extendable drink shelf and USB and power outlets in the front. The tray table was on my right armrest, but I missed having a storage pouch in front of me.

WASHINGTON — Among the many permutations for how the elections could end, one prospect has sparked chatter in both parties: Donald Trump could win the presidency while Democrats seize control of the House. Such a split would be rare — not since 1989 has a president entered office without his party controlling the House — and give Democrats substantial power over Trump's legislative agenda. In addition, persisting signs of ticket-splitting indicate Trump voters won’t all pull the lever for his party’s candidates down the ballot. The operative added that if Trump overperforms in rural areas, it could spell danger for a few Democratic-held House seats, such as Alaska's at-large district and Maine's 2nd District. “It’s why the American people will send President Trump a Republican House to secure the border, bring down inflation, and support law enforcement.”Asked about the prospect of a Trump presidency and a Democratic-controlled House, the Democrats' House campaign arm sounded an optimistic note that its party will win both.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to issue a formal apology Friday for a government-run boarding school system that forcibly separated generations of Native American children from their families. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland listens to testimony from students who attended Native American boarding schools, at the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Okla., on July 9, 2022. In June 2021, Haaland launched an initiative to investigate the federal Indian boarding school system and shed light on its traumas. An initial report on the system published in 2022 found that hundreds of Native American, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian children died attending Indian boarding schools run or supported by the U.S. government. The report this year urged the federal government to both establish a national memorial to acknowledge the experiences of those in the boarding schools and to apologize to those harmed by the policy.

A San Francisco man has sued Alaska Airlines alleging negligence led to the death of his beloved 3-year-old French bulldog after he was asked to move from first-class to coach on a flight from New York to San Francisco. The lawsuit, filed Oct. 16 in San Francisco County Superior Court against Alaska Airlines, alleges breach of contract, negligence, negligent hiring and supervision, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and seeks punitive damages to be determined at trial. However, shortly before take off, “an Alaska Airlines flight attendant and another unknown male employee of Alaska Airlines asked the Plaintiff and his father to move to aisle 11 of the Plane for safety purposes,” the complaint said. Alaska Airlines employees should have known the requirements needed to avoid that happening,” the filing claimed. NBC News has reached out to Alaska Airlines and attorneys for Contillo for comment.
