Amid the backdrop of the US' polarized political environment, it might seem like the differences between Harris and Trump are night and day. DWS Group identified the following three areas of the market that'll perform well under a Trump or Harris presidency. Big Tech and AI aren't going anywhere this November, according to DWS Americas Chief Investment Officer David Bianco. If Trump wins, tax cuts will provide a boost to corporate America and increase consumer spending. If Harris wins, the dollar will strengthen for different reasons.

AdvertisementSome big tech companies have already whittled away a large chunk of their cash reserves chasing this AI trend. For more than a year, the assumption has been that generative AI will stoke a massive wave of new demand. What if that demand turns out to be weaker than expected? The big storyFor saleGetty Images; Jenny Chang-Rodriguez/BIOne of Tesla's biggest assets is its willingness to try new things, but its unique approach to sales is also what's giving it headaches. AdvertisementA key issue is Tesla's inability to evolve its sales tactics as the EV market rapidly changes . Business Insider's Grace Kay spoke to more than a dozen current and former employees in Tesla's sales division about how the company has tried to kick-start its sales unit . Not unlike its cars, Tesla's sales approach is innovative compared to the rest of the automotive industry. It's a great strategy when the cars sell themselves — which Teslas did for a while — since you don't need to maintain a traditional sales structure.

When it comes to investing in sectors such as financials and energy under Trump, Bianco believes that size matters. A Harris presidency would benefit the renewable energy industry, according to Amanda Rebello, head of Xtrackers ETF sales at DWS. That's primarily because a Harris presidency would result in more stringent fiscal policy than a Trump one. The national debt is also likely to rise faster under a Trump presidency compared to a Harris one. Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche said Monday it is accelerating the development of its Wegovy rival weight loss drugs following promising early stage trial data. However, in an FT interview published earlier Monday, CEO Thomas Schinecker indicated that the firm's first obesity drug could come to market "significantly faster than people are expecting," potentially by 2028. Both CT-388 and CT-996 were acquired as part of Roche's purchase of U.S. biotech company Carmot Therapeutics, which completed in January. The promising results could see Roche emerge as a potential rival to obesity drug pioneers Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly.
