The Danish pharmaceutical giant said that its net profit in the third quarter hit 27.3 billion Danish kroner ($3.92 billion), above an LSEG aggregate estimate of 26.95 billion Danish kroner. EBIT — earnings before tax and income — came to 33.8 billion Danish kroner, also just above the LSEG forecast of 33.51 billion Danish kroner. The guidance reflected the company's expectations for sales growth in North America and internationally, which is largely driven by volume growth of treatments based on Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), Novo Nordisk said. Novo Nordisk added that it was investing in capacity both internally and externally to increase supply in the short- and long-term.

Newly public child care services provider KinderCare Learning has a standout strategy that could boost its profits well into the future, according to Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs led the KinderCare initial public offering at $24 a share last month. The company also serves families across all income demographics, including those that get subsidies for child care, which broadens its addressable market. Goldman estimates the domestic child care industry is worth about $76 billion, and predicts it should grow at an annual rate of about 6% long term. Tong expects KinderCare revenue to top that, rising between 6% and 9%, as it makes acquisitions of smaller providers and further cements its advantages as a large-scale player.

CNN —An American social media influencer said he was paid $100 by a pro-Kremlin propagandist to post a fake video of Haitian immigrants claiming to vote in the US presidential election. After speaking with CNN, AlphaFox deleted the post, which at the time had generated more than 2.6 million views. Deleted video’s message lives onAlphaFox said he was remorseful for sharing Russian disinformation, and adamant that he was the one who was tricked. “I never wanted to misinform anyone.”AlphaFox believes himself to be just “the guy who shared” a disinformation video. “Real people have become important vehicles of Russian disinformation.

CNN —Incendiary devices that ignited in Germany and the United Kingdom in July were part of a covert Russian operation that aimed to start fires aboard cargo and passenger flights heading to the US and Canada, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Monday, citing Western security officials. In July, device explosions at DHL logistics hubs in Leipzig, Germany, and Birmingham, UK, kickstarted a race to find the suspects, WSJ reported. When the WSJ asked Russia for comment about the suspected Russian plot, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied the allegations. “We have never heard any official accusations” of Russian involvement, adding: “These are traditional unsubstantiated insinuations from the media.”” He said according to WSJ. It was dealt with by staff and the local fire brigade at the time and there were no reports of any injuries or significant damage caused,” the spokesperson said.

New York CNN —Embattled discount chain Dollar Tree announced its CEO and chairman, Rick Dreiling, had stepped down on Sunday. Shares of Dollar Tree, which also owns Family Dollar, have plunged more than 50% this year. Dollar Tree, which also owns Family Dollar, appointed COO Michael C. Creedon as interim CEO and Edward J. Kelly as chairman. Dollar Tree also said it is still committed to a review of “strategic alternatives” for Family Dollar. Singapore Airlines is planning to add a four-seat first class to the Airbus aircraft it uses for its longest routes, a bet to attract high-spending travelers to flights that can top 17 hours. The carrier will add the new seats to seven Airbus A350-900 URLs, or ultra-long-range aircraft that it uses for lengthy trips, including its longest, between New York and Singapore. Singapore said the new first- and business-class seats will have new in-flight entertainment but the carrier didn't disclose many details about the new cabins. Airlines have been investing billions of dollars to revamp their premium cabins to chase travelers willing to shell out for more space on board. They range from international airlines Singapore Airlines to smaller carriers like JetBlue Airways , whose long-range twin-aisle jets used for trips across the Atlantic feature suites with sliding doors.
