CNN —Kerry Washington is sharing a piece of her family history. In an interview with People published Sunday, Washington revealed she learned in 2018 that her dad, Earl Washington, is not her biological father – something the “Scandal” star says “really turned my world upside down.”“When I got this information, I was like, ‘Oh. I now know my story,’” Washington said. Instead of finding out on TV, her parents ended up telling her in private, revealing to Washington for the first time that they had turned to an anonymous donor to help them conceive after facing fertility issues. And it really made me feel closer to them,” Washington said.

Apple's hybrid work pilot program is still going two years after it was first proposed. It started after employees pushed back against a plan to bring them back to the office three days per week. "So what we decided to do was run a pilot where people come into the office three days a week. Apple first announced the pilot program Cook spoke of in June 2021 as pandemic restrictions wound down and people came out into the sun squinting their eyes. In mid-2022, Cook told employees that the pilot program wasn't set in stone and expected aspects to be adjusted.

PinnedFederal Reserve officials are expected to leave interest rates unchanged at their meeting on Wednesday, buying themselves more time to assess whether borrowing costs are high enough to weigh down the economy and wrestle inflation under control. Central bankers have already raised interest rates to a range of 5.25 to 5.5 percent, the highest level in 22 years. At least a few officials might stop expecting another quarter-point rate move this year, predicting instead that interest rates have already reached their peak. If, on the other hand, officials expect to lower rates by less in 2024, it could be a signal that policymakers expect inflation to prove more stubborn. Fed officials will release fresh economic forecasts.

Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay is leaving for Amazon after the company made budget and staff cuts, canceled products in his division, and amid discussions about a reorganization in his unit, insiders say. Microsoft, Panay, and Amazon did not comment. During nearly 20 years at Microsoft, Panay was notably in charge of the team that developed the Surface hardware business. Windows licensing and the unit's hardware underperformed relative to the company's financial projections, insiders say, and Microsoft responded by dramatically scaling back Panay's division. At Microsoft, insiders say Panay was known as a demanding leader and expected "white glove service" on everything, meaning a premium experience with extra care and attention to detail.

Europe, often a few years behind when it comes to startup trends, is also starting to produce its own solo GPs. After a record-breaking 2021, bigger VC funds in Europe have generally found it more challenging to raise their next funds. Lots of fund managers speak to everyone and waste lots of time going over unqualified leads," she said. In short, knowing who to pitch for investment is crucial when looking to raise funds.
