Nikkei, which first reported the news, said that 50 ASML engineers will install an ASML "EUV" machine on a prototype line in Chitose City, Hokkaido. TSMC, Samsung, Intel and memory chip specialists SK Hynix and Micron currently manufacture using ASML's EUV tools. The court, however, agreed with the European Commission that Intel illegally excluded rivals from the market which prompted the EU antitrust watchdog to re-open the case. "The General Court confirmed that Intel's naked restrictions amounted to an abuse of dominant market position under EU competition rules," the European Commission said in a statement. The Commission has appealed the General Court's ruling last year at the EU Court of Justice, Europe's top court.

LONDON (AP) — European Union antitrust enforcers slapped Intel on Friday with a fresh $400 million fine in a long-running legal fight that the chipmaker appeared to have won last year. The EU’s General Court last year annulled the original decision, saying that the commission's analysis of the rebates didn't meet legal standards. Russia has redeployed troops away from Bakhmut, likely weakening its defenses, the UK MOD said. Ukrainian troops are within 5 miles of the city, the Ministry of Defence added. It's part of Ukraine's attempts to draw troops away from the main axis of the war, one expert said.
