The US is set to approve depleted-uranium tank shells for Ukraine, the WSJ said. The shells are capable of blowing up Russian tank armor. For several months the Biden administration has been debating whether to provide the shells to Ukraine following concerns over their environmental and health impacts, the outlet reported. When used in tank shells, the material is effective because its bulk can penetrate through enemy armor. The weapons could hand Ukraine an advantage in tank battles as it launches its campaign to drive Russian forces back from territory they occupy in south and eastern Ukraine.

Some 62% of respondents in the Reuters/Ipsos poll, including 91% of Democrats and 35% of Republicans, said it was believable that Trump illegally stored classified documents at his home in Florida as alleged by prosecutors. Some 43% of self-identified Republicans said Trump was their preferred candidate, compared to 22% who picked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump's closest rival. In early May, Trump led DeSantis 49% to 19%, but that was before DeSantis formally entered the race. A Reuters/Ipsos poll in March found that Republicans also saw that investigation as politically motivated.

June 11 (Reuters) - Illumina (ILMN.O) Chief Executive Officer Francis DeSouza stepped down on Sunday, the gene-sequencing machine maker said in a statement, ending a battle with activist investor Carl Icahn in which the company's chairman left the company earlier this year. Illumina said it named Senior Vice President and General Counsel Charles Dadswell as interim CEO. Icahn in a tweet said he is happy with the recent changes at Illumina and considers them a "very positive occurrence." Icahn has said he wants former Illumina CEO Jay Flatley to return. Vicki Hollub, for instance, remains Occidental Petroleum's (OXY.N) CEO after the company cut a deal with Icahn over board seats in 2020 and after Icahn cashed out two years later.
