Norway has had massive success with EV adoption — 82% of new cars sold in the country in 2023 were electric, according to the Norwegian Road Federation. This high adoption rate can be attributed to the generous subsidies the Scandinavian country has offered to electric vehicle owners as well as its investment in charging infrastructure. Tesla's early foothold there has made Norway a pivotal proving ground for the company and a national model for electric vehicle transition. Norwegians were the first European customers to receive deliveries of the Tesla Model S in 2013. CNBC traveled to Norway to meet with local people, government officials and experts to find out how Tesla has become so successful in the Scandinavian country.

“The golden age of dating apps is over,” a friend told me at a bar on Super Bowl Sunday. As we waited for our drinks, she and another friend swiped through Bumble and Hinge, hunting for new faces and likes. Across the bar were two young men: phones out, apps open, clearly doing the exact same thing. What’s lamentable here isn’t only that dating apps have become the de facto medium through which single people meet. Or maybe the apps have functionally, intentionally gotten worse, as have our romantic prospects.

Trump’s legal tactic of pursuing delays and elevating smoke-and-mirror sideshows has dramatically increased the odds that any halt of his ascent to the presidency will instead have to come from voters at the ballot box in November. Many experts agree that was Trump’s principal legal “strategy” from the outset. We need at least four delays – delay, delay, delay, delay – when we talk about the Trump strategy to match the four trials,” says Norm Eisen, former special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during Trump’s first impeachment trial. Eisen says that even with the hiccups prosecutor incurred this week, the delay strategy can only take Trump so far. “I think the delay, delay, delay, delay tactic is going to run out of steam and we’re certain to see one criminal trial of the former president for 2016 election interference and we may very well see multiple trials,” Eisen said.

Merchant said that Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade, whom she hired to manage the Trump case, had been “profiting personally from this prosecution” at taxpayers’ expense. Merchant also said that Mr. Wade was underqualified, and argued that the entire indictment should be dismissed. A torrent of court filings followed, as did a number of dramatic, televised public hearings that had little to do with the indictment charging Mr. Trump and some of his allies with conspiring to overturn his 2020 election loss. Defense lawyers argued that Ms. Willis had engaged in “self-dealing” by hiring Mr. Wade to manage the Trump prosecution, and then going on vacations with him that he paid for, at least in part. Defense lawyers also accused Mr. Wade and Ms. Willis of lying to the court about some details of their relationship, including when it began.

The Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday announced it would be sending over $4.1 million in refunds to 27,584 borrowers who gave money to South Dakota corporations Mission Hills Federal and Federal Direct Group. According to the press release, the FTC said the companies "lured consumers with fake loan forgiveness claims and pocketed their money." President Joe Biden this month made climate jobs a major focus of his reelection bid. The administration plans to launch the American Climate Corps this summer with about 20,000 workers, but the funding is pieced together from various federal agencies. These prospective voters are also the target hires for the American Climate Corps, which will focus on reducing greenhouse-gas pollution in local communities and making them more resilient to extreme weather. Stevie O'Hanlon, a spokesperson for the Sunrise Movement, which mobilizes young voters focused on the climate, said the launch of the American Climate Corps was a big win. But the chances of Congress approving more funding for the workforce program are slim, given that House Republicans last year tried to block any federal spending for the American Climate Corps.

Fewer new-car shoppers are considering EVs for their next vehicle, according to JD Power, with shoppers citing a lack of access to charging infrastructure as a main reason for ruling out EVs. Brands that have leaned into hybrids saw better sales results in February. "Hybrids are just rockin,'" Toyota Motor North America's sales chief David Christ told Automotive News after it released its sales results last week. The Toyota RAV4 SUV is one of the more popular hybrids on dealer lots. Among American brands, Ford notched a 31.5% increase in hybrid sales, as these vehicles lured more new customers to the Blue Oval.

CNN —Hunter Biden won’t be returning to the spotlight next week as the House Oversight Committee had hoped. The problem with the Hunter Biden investigation, though, is not its potential reliance on the word of a compromised informant. And in that sense, Hunter Biden shares something in common with an unlikely person: Trump, at least with respect to his criminal case in New York. Much like the gun charge against Hunter Biden, the tax indictment has left many former federal white-collar prosecutors like me scratching their heads. That doesn’t mean that Trump or Hunter Biden are innocent; indeed, the former has more serious cases to contend with.
