Trekking Across Switzerland, Guided by Locals’ Hand-Drawn Maps Nostalgic for a time before ubiquitous connectivity, a writer ditched his phone and relied instead on serendipity — and maps made by people he met along the way. So perhaps the most difficult day was also the day I knew for sure that I would make it — that I’d find my way across Switzerland with nothing but the hand-drawn maps of strangers. The map I’m using was drawn by Susana, a Portuguese woman who married into a local family and now runs a mountain refuge near the village of Grindelwald. Days 9 and 10 43 miles, through the original heart of Switzerland and the turquoise lakes of the canton of Glarus. This is the heart of Switzerland — the original cantons that formed the Old Swiss Confederacy, the precursor to the modern-day country.

For those still stuck between one or more of the three for a particular economy flight, here's my best advice on how to choose. United's upgraded cabin is just as nice as Delta's, and I'd argue it's actually better with the Bluetooth option. But you'll want to pay up for at least regular economy to get a carry-on for domestic flights. While I've had my issues with American in the past, the airline has fully grown on me. If you're like me, who watches content on a personal device, I'd say that's a win-win.

I'm comfortable with either of those pronunciations, but many Americans pronounce it as "uh-mee-duh," which I really dislike. Saying my name with the "duh" sound may not sound wrong to some, but I feel that it makes my name sound clunky and old-school. It's helped me learn to advocate for myself and be aware of whether I'm saying other's names correctly. In addition to just flat-out being my favorite fast food, Taco Bell is also a favorite of my son's because he's been a vegetarian his entire life, and you can always count on Taco Bell for a few bean burritos (no red sauce, no onions) in a pinch. The reason for the lack of Taco Bell has never been explained to me, and France clearly has no problem hosting fast food establishments from the US (KFC, McDonald's, and Burger King are everywhere).
