The big storyDon't let the weekend get away from youJLPH / Getty ImageWeekends seem like such a simple concept — two days away from work. Plan "anchor events" for your weekendAdvertisementVanderkam defined an anchor event as something you want to do during the weekend — any activity that's loosely planned ahead of time. She recommends thinking of the weekend in five chunks: Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day, Sunday night. People can experiment with balancing responsibilities and free time, she said, since creating a fulfilling weekend is so individualized and requires work. Haselberger recommends that people ask themselves: What can you do on the weekend that is outside of something that you would normally do to make the weekend feel like it was a prolonged period of time?

Russia is suspected of having used a new Iranian exploding drone in Ukraine, though it's not confirmed. The weapon, Iran's jet-powered Shahed-238, is believed to offer a speed boost over the Shahed-136 loitering munition. With these new drones, Moscow could create more headaches for Ukraine's air defenses, experts say. Remain of a Russian-made Shahed 136 at an exhibition on May 12, 2023 in Kyiv, Ukraine. AdvertisementConnecticut was quick to experience the impact of weight loss drugs on its economy last year. Politico reported in November that the state's employee health plan was set to spend $30 million on drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy. Comptroller Sean Scanlon told BI that that was up from $8 million in 2020. Connecticut began testing out a method to offer those seeking weight loss drugs access to a program with online tools for weight management. In North Carolina, the State Health Plan has put a moratorium on new users of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss.

His regular old burrito order wasn't that different — warm tortilla, chicken, rice, beans, veggies, hot sauce, salsa, lettuce — but it came to 900 calories. Many of the caves containing Gigantopithecus fossils have been found in Guangxi's distinctive karst landscape. “The early caves at 2 million years old have hundreds of teeth, but the younger caves around the extinction period — there are only 3-4 … teeth,” Westaway said. Isotope analysis of elements such as carbon and oxygen contained in the Gigantopithecus teeth helped the researchers understand how the animal’s diet may have changed over time. LONDON (AP) — A 26-year-old man who tried to sell what he claimed was a walking stick used by the late Queen Elizabeth II has been sentenced for defrauding eBay buyers. Dru Marshall, from Hampshire in southern England, claimed he was a senior footman at Windsor Castle and that the proceeds from the sale of the “antler walking stick” would go to cancer research. The auction had reached 540 pounds ($686) before he cancelled the listing after learning police had launched an investigation, prosecutors said. He was found guilty of fraud by false representation at Southampton Magistrates’ Court and sentenced on Monday to a 12-month community order. “Dru Marshall used the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to try and hoodwink the public with a fake charity auction – fueled by greed and a desire for attention,’’ Julie Macey, a senior crown prosecutor, said.

British fintech Revolut's revenue rose 45% to a record 923 million pounds ($1.1 billion) in 2022, but net profit tumbled to 6 million pounds, down from 26 million pounds the year before, the company said in delayed annual accounts on Friday. The company had said it had 26.2 million customers, up almost 10 million from 2021. CEO Nikolay Storonsky said in the annual report that the company remains "committed to our ongoing UK banking licence application." Revolut, which ranked as the UK's most valuable start-up when it was valued at around $33 billion in 2021, applied for a UK banking licence early that year but is still awaiting approval. The company said in September it had received permission to delay filing its annual accounts for a second year running.

Reuters —British Home Secretary James Cleverly arrived in Rwanda on Tuesday to sign a new treaty to send asylum seekers to the African nation after the UK’s top court declared the deportation scheme unlawful. But the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court last month ruled that such a move would violate international human rights laws enshrined in domestic legislation. Since that ruling, Britain has been seeking to renegotiate its agreement with Rwanda to include a binding treaty that it would not expel asylum seekers sent there by Britain - one of the court’s major concerns. The court said the plan breached international undertakings - including the European Convention on Human Rights, the United Nations’ Refugee Convention and Convention against Torture. The Rwanda policy was originally announced by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson last year, but no asylum seekers have been sent to the country yet.

Barclays shares slip after major backer Qatar cuts stake

Barclays' stock fell as much as 4.5% in early trading and was last down 2.5% at 1007 GMT. CNN —The propulsion module that powered India’s spacecraft to a historic moon landing just transitioned back into Earth’s orbit, according to the country’s space agency. The propulsion module had more fuel left over than the Indian Space Research Organization, or ISRO, had expected. The initial plan was to operate the SHAPE experiment for about three months, while the propulsion module continued whirring through lunar orbit. But because the rocket that launched the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft delivered it to such a precise orbit, the propulsion module was left with more propellant than expected. (The trial did not, however, attempt to get back into lunar orbit or reconnect with the propulsion module.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's foreign minister David Cameron will underline the importance of support and humanitarian funding for Ukraine during his first visit to Washington since he assumed his post last month, the UK foreign office said on Wednesday. The former prime minister will travel to the United States to reaffirm both the strength of Britain's relationship with Washington and London's continued support for Ukraine against Russia's invasion. Last month, Cameron used his first trip abroad to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv. The foreign office said that in Washington Cameron would also discuss the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and getting humanitarian aid to those affected in Israeli-besieged Gaza. Britain and the United States can work towards a long-term two-state solution which allows both Israel and the Palestinians can co-exist in peace, his office said.
