Read previewThe Russian Aerospace Forces are using a new munition in Ukraine that might change the situation on the ground. In June, Russian aircraft deployed for the first time the FAB-3000 M-54 glide bomb. Ukrainian outlets reported the use of the glide bomb against Ukrainian troop concentration points in Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine. Relying on a combination of stand-off and glide munitions, Russian aircraft have been targeting Ukrainian critical infrastructure and urban centers. But beyond causing some additional casualties to the Ukrainian forces, Russian tactical aviation hasn't made a difference.

It's a big enough issue that federal agencies like the FBI and Federal Trade Commission have issued warnings about job scams. Then, they may ask you to send them money or personal information, according to Amanda Augustine, a career expert at TopResume. Some companies make executive-level job openings confidential to high-profile applicants at first, but they will begin disclosing more details about the role as the interview process gets underway. For job openings that have no reason being kept so tightly under wraps, a formal job description should be handed over upon request, Augustine explains. "If there's absolutely no digital trail about this company, or it's really, really sparse when you're running some Google searches, I would be concerned."

Where the similarities endAnother Trump presidency would mean a vastly different America than if Biden won a second term. The on-cycle recruiting process is not easy on these young bankers, who are often already working 80+ hour weeks in their new investment-banking jobs. The conventional wisdom on Wall Street has always been that the most hawkish PE firms walk away with the most impressive candidates. Odyssey doesn't participate in on-cycle recruiting because it prefers to fill positions in what is known as "off-cycle," or the months that follow the initial recruiting process. It all leaves me thinking about the PE recruiting cycles of the future. To be overly cautious, I've already penciled in a calendar reminder for 2025: "Monitor for PE recruiting cycle kickoff."

I found this levered concept incredibly valuable when I ran other peoples' money at my hedge fund years ago. My first question to them, usually interjected, rudely, if I were bored or confused was: "What the heck is this business levered to?" Palo Alto Networks To understand this kind of leverage that I am talking about — as opposed to the kind that involves debt —let's start with something easy, let's start with the stock of Palo Alto Networks . We own Palo Alto because its fortunes are levered to something that has the most explosive growth of an industry I know: cybercrime. If we didn't own Palo Alto we would own CrowdStrike.

"They're taking Black jobs, and they're taking Hispanic jobs, and you haven't seen it yet, but you're going to see something that's going to be the worst in our history." It's true that Black workers have historically been overrepresented in certain sectors like government and home health care. But amid persistent inflation and a cooling job market, Black workers' average weekly earnings declined in the most recent quarter to $293.
