McDonald’s is adding two new sauces
  + stars: | 2023-09-26 | by ( Jordan Valinsky | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +2 min
Beginning October 9, the fast food chain is adding two new dipping sauces to its menu for a limited time, joining its lineup of six sauces that include barbecue, ranch and sweet and sour. Some celebrity meals also came with re-branded dipping sauces, or ones that had previously only been available in certain regions. And while other chains struggle to bring more customers into restaurant locations, McDonald’s is reporting growth in US traffic. McDonald’s is partnering with its chefs and influencers to show off the number of combinations the new sauces can be paired with. That followed the news that McDonald’s was adding more of the sauce to its Big Mac sandwiches as part of a broader shakeup to its menu.

New York is filled with signs advertising cash in exchange for diabetic test strips. The whole thing is absurd to the rappers Billy Woods and Elucid of Armand Hammer. Over the past few years, the prolific Woods has become one of rap’s most popular indie voices. Elucid, a poet, producer and M.C., has been turning out sonically challenging work that can best be classified as art-rap. Their music harks back to the mid-1990s era of New York rap, when the topics were bleak and the beats were sullen.

CNN —Serena Williams’ former coach Patrick Mouratoglou came away from his first meeting with a 10-year-old Coco Gauff convinced that she was destined for greatness. NEW YORK (AP) — Along with such classics as “In Cold Blood” and “Breakfast at Tiffany's,” Truman Capote had a history of work left uncompleted and unpublished. “I am so happy to be writing stories again — they are my great love," he wrote to a friend. The PGA Tour is returning to Maui to start the new season with the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua, five months after deadly wildfires destroyed nearby Lahaina and claimed at least 97 lives. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan had said last month he hoped the tournament could be a source of inspiration for Maui and Lahaina, about 10 miles away from where the PGA Tour has started its year since 1999. The tour sent a memo to players Thursday that it will be back at Kapalua for the Jan. 4-7 opener. The Bay Course at Kapalua opened on Wednesday, and the Plantation Course where the tournament is held is to open on Oct. 18. Six Emerging Brands to Know This Season

DiotimaThe designer Rachel Scott’s focus on tailoring and craft — in particular, crochet made in her native Jamaica — has been clear since she launched her brand, Diotima, in 2021. But it wasn’t until she held her first presentation, at a gallery in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood earlier this month, that fashion week attendees were able to observe the line’s detailing up close: Models traversed the room in intricate bead vests and floor-length gowns made from delicate, netlike cotton fabrics. Scott, 39, formerly a vice president of design at Rachel Comey, also collaborated with the Jamaican visual artist Laura Facey this season, drawing inspiration from the work in Facey’s 2022 solo exhibition at the Kingston arts venue Ormsby Hall. “It had a haunting energy,” Scott said in a statement, “one that prompted me to reflect, once again, upon the history and legacy of slavery in the Caribbean.” Facey’s chalk drawing “Seed” (2022) appeared as a textile print, and the artist made small versions of her heart-shaped wooden sculptures, which Scott hung like talismans from long cord necklaces and silver hoop earrings.
