It should put a damper on just how much we should expect the next president to accomplish, especially if the divide is between the House and the White House. There’s a big difference in just how divided government becomes, depending on whether the House and the White House are controlled by the same party or different parties. Two words send chills down the spine of any presidents who find the “other” party in control of the House: subpoena power. Both Trump and Joe Biden saw the second halves of their terms (after they lost control of the House) essentially paralyzed by an oppositional House. First, because California House races will determine overall House control, it could take as much as two or three weeks before we know the makeup of Congress in 2025 for sure.

For the first time in decades, Google next year will not control a majority of the US search market, according to a forecast by advertising research firm eMarketer. India's consumer rights agency received unusually high 10,000 complaints against Ola Electric, over a year and has sent a notice seeking explanation from the SoftBank-backed e-scooter maker, a top official at the watchdog said on Tuesday. Ola, which has a 27% market share in India's e-scooter market, did not respond to a request for comment. HSBC analysts said in a September note they visited multiple Ola service hubs and most "appeared overwhelmed by the service requests". Reuters last year visited 35 Ola centers in 10 Indian states and found many faced significant backlogs, with demand outstripping their workforce.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah began firing at Israel on October 8 last year to show solidarity with Hamas, which had launched an attack on Israel from Gaza a day earlier. Hezbollah had previously stated that it would only cease its attacks on Israel once a ceasefire was reached with Hamas in Gaza. Israel, however, insisted that Hezbollah separate its conflict with Israel from the ongoing war with Hamas.
