NEW YORK (AP) — A group of people and businesses who say they are owed money by Rudy Giuliani gathered virtually Friday for the first court hearing since he declared bankruptcy last month after losing a defamation suit to two Georgia election workers. Biden is suing Giuliani, saying he wrongly shared his personal data after obtaining it from the owner of a computer repair shop. The Chapter 11 declaration halted the judgment but also prevented Giuliani from challenging the verdict. During Friday's hearing, Giuliani's attorney tried to convince the bankruptcy judge, Sean Lane, to temporarily lift a stay to allow him to appeal the judgment. “This guy stiffed a lot of workers.”The next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31.

The app isn't close to challenging Google's search dominance (the companies have even partnered together). But as a video-first app, TikTok may be better suited for certain visual-leaning queries. A new Adobe Express survey, conducted in August by brand-engagement firm Fractl, examined what makes search different on TikTok and what its users typically look for. AdvertisementFor brands looking to post on TikTok, Adobe's report offered insights into the types of videos companies should make and what topics to focus on. Respondents tended to prefer "video tutorials," "product or service reviews," and "personal stories or anecdotes" when using TikTok as a search engine.

But today, Germany is staring at a surging far right – and the country’s mainstream politicians and democratic citizens, still by far the lion’s share of the population, are understandably rattled. Since then it has veered steadily to the far right, where its members tout barely veiled racism and Islamophobia. But studies show that time and again the accommodation of radical right positions benefits the hard right – and not its imitators. Moreover, democrats of all stripes should expose the far right’s populist arguments for what they are: exaggerations, falsehoods and demagoguery. Germany’s ascendent far right shows that all of Europe – and beyond, including the US – could be at a tipping point.
