Wednesday's March consumer price index report could play a pivotal role in the next stage of the stock market rally, according to Fundstrat's Tom Lee. "Bottom line: We see probabilities favoring a rally in stocks post-March CPI report," the head or research wrote in a note to clients Sunday. Recent data trending above expectations and higher oil prices have fueled worries on Wall Street that inflation is reaccelerating after a period of downward momentum, Lee noted. "Thus, March is first clean CPI print of 2024," he said. "Or rather, we view the March CPI report as more representative of the actual trend in inflation."

A report by strategy consultant firm Tyton Partners, sponsored by plagiarism detection platform Turnitin, found half of college students used AI tools in Fall 2023. The practice of using AI for writing feedback or grading assignments also raises ethical considerations. But teachers should then grade students’ work themselves when looking for novelty, creativity and depth of insight. “Using feedback that is not truly from me seems like it is shortchanging that relationship a little,” she said. She also sees uploading a student’s work to ChatGPT as a “huge ethical consideration” and potentially a breach of their intellectual property.

Companies may eventually transition to four days in person, with a flexible Friday option, according to Barry Diller. Which is what is going to lead to — I think sensibly — not necessarily a four-day work week, but four days in the office, and Fridays you can work from home or work at your own schedule." In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, companies have gravitated toward flexible working schedules, but the multitude of options has created some "chaos" at companies, according to Diller. Diller isn't the only investor calling for a more flexible working norm. During an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Wednesday, Mets owner Steve Cohen said that the growth of artificial intelligence could lead to a shortened four-day work week.

"We do not believe Tesla will get credit as an AI company as long as core auto earnings are being revised down," wrote widely-followed Tesla bull Adam Jonas. The $100 bear case suggests that Tesla could fall more than 40% from Wednesday's close. These issues could hamstring Tesla near term, but Jonas expects deliveries to find a bottom in the second quarter. In fact, he views Tesla as a combination of an auto, energy, AI and robotics stock, noting that its auto business represents only 20% of Morgan Stanley's $310 price target valuation.
