The best way to approach health care, in addition to traditional medicine, in Hotz's opinion, is social prescribing. This is the future Julia Hotz, author of " The Connection Cure ," hopes will become a reality in every country. Or you can create your own art to channel some of the heavy emotions you're feeling into something beautiful. Search for belonging when you're feeling lonelyOne of the most fundamental human needs is to have a sense of belonging, Hotz says. But in his own way (very demure, very mindful) that is what happened Wednesday when he announced the Fed’s first rate cut in four years, a giant half-point reduction that will lower the cost of borrowing and offer financial relief for consumers and businesses. Whenever a reporter asks him about politics, Powell refuses to bite. Like on Wednesday, when he was asked whether the half-point rate cut had political motivations, he responded with something approaching exasperation. It’s just maximum employment and price stability on behalf of all Americans.”Of course, that’s unlikely to stop either party from using the rate cut news to their advantage, given that the economy is the No. Trump can continue to claim that a rate cut is a sign the economy is weak.

They were lucky enough to lock in a 2.79% mortgage rate when they bought it — the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is over 5% today. However, one non-financial factor began to lure the couple away from Colorado: family. Due to Massachussets' "higher cost of living," Nicole said the move has had a significant impact on their finances. For these people, buying a new home could mean taking on a significantly higher mortgage rate and monthly mortgage payment than they previously had. Lastly, while they live closer to family, Nicole said this hasn't saved them money on childcare.

They received some relief on Wednesday when the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 50 basis points, which will lower mortgage costs. Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell said the "real issue" behind high prices in the U.S. housing market is a lack of supply, which isn't "something the Fed can really fix." With rates dropping, Powell also said that "more people are likely to start moving," which could boost home sales. Powell also said that shelter costs in the CPI tend to lag behind real-time prices, so the recent slowdown in home and rent prices prices isn't fully reflected yet. The best thing the Fed can do for U.S. households is get "inflation broadly down" and reduce the cost of borrowing by "normalizing" interest rates, Powell said.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump said Thursday that “the Jewish people” would be partially to blame if he loses in November, escalating his persistent campaign trail criticism of Jewish voters and insisting that Democrats hold a “curse” over them. But the former president appeared preoccupied with what he described as ingratitude from Jewish voters, whom he said should be supporting him in greater proportions because of his record on Israel. Still, Trump has repeatedly cast his rival as “anti-Israel” and “anti-Jewish.”“You have to defeat Kamala Harris more than any other people on earth,” Trump said, addressing the Jewish voters in the audience. You want to control your politicians, that’s fine,” Trump said at the Republican Jewish Coalition in December 2015. “I’m a negotiator like you folks, we are negotiators.”But Trump’s open frustration with Jewish voters became a more frequent theme in the aftermath of his 2020 election defeat.

CNN —A former OceanGate scientific director said the Titan submersible suffered a malfunction six days before imploding in June 2023, killing all five people on board. The dive was aborted because, upon resurfacing, a platform malfunction caused by an issue with the variable ballast tank, which controlled the submersible’s buoyancy, caused the platform to invert to 45 degrees with the back bow facing upward. Because the platform malfunction took considerable time to correct, the dive was aborted and they returned to the surface to fix the issue. He said he knew the Titan submersible had not been inspected by the United States Coast Guard in 2021, 2022 or 2023. Ross also mentioned two incidents during the 2022 Titanic expedition dives, including a loud bang heard while surfacing in Dive 80.
