CNN —Rapid melting of West Antarctica’s ice shelves may now be unavoidable as human-caused global warming accelerates, with potentially devastating implications for sea level rise around the world, new research has found. Even if the world meets ambitious targets to limit global heating, West Antarctica will experience substantial ocean warming and ice shelf melting, according to the new study published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change. They act like buttresses, helping hold ice back on the land, slowing its flow into the sea and providing an important defense against sea level rise. Almost 9 million subscribers joined Netflix around the globe in the third quarter, surpassing Wall Street analysts' forecast for 6 million, according to LSEG. “They tend to close in these neighborhoods regardless of whether or not there is another pharmacy nearby,” Qato said. Closings can create so-called “pharmacy deserts,” or neighborhoods without easy access to a drugstore. “It’ll kind of worsen the problem of pharmacy deserts and disparities in pharmacy access,” Qato said. She noted that patients who lose drugstore access are less likely to stay on their regular prescriptions, and that can affect their health. Jonas said drugstores do want to help with pharmacy access, but the economics still need to work for these companies.

For the first time in a long time, tech workers are in a funk. This rare combination of generous compensation and a reasonable work-life balance kept tech workers happier than employees in other industries. Economy wide, there were on average 6.6 front-line workers per manager in 2018 and 2019, but post-pandemic, the ratio dropped to 6 to 1. It's possible that as tech companies have grown into more complex organizations, more management layers are necessary. Fundamentally, it's about listening to and elevating the voices of front-line employees.
