☆ Jim Cramer looks at Amazon and Apple and why it can be tough to sit on good stocks

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday described why it can be difficult for investors to sit on solid stocks. "In the last decade, the toughest thing to do is to hold on to good stocks," he said. Cramer recapped action in the stocks of Apple and Amazon , which received downgrades on Monday — ratings with which Cramer disagreed. Both stocks sold off heavily on Monday, he pointed out, but they recovered by Tuesday — hampering investors' chances of buying back shares if they sold during the previous session. "I need you to understand that when analysts downgrade after stocks have already been hammered, when really good investors ignore the positives, then, it may be a grim time," Cramer said.

☆ Spirit Halloween to open 10 new 'Spirit Christmas' stores catering to holiday shoppers

Some Spirit Halloween locations will be busy for longer than usual this year. Spirit Halloween will operate 10 stores through the entire holiday season as "Spirit Christmas," a spokesperson confirmed with CNBC. Not all stores will be converted from existing Spirit Halloween locations. "Spirit Christmas is a new concept for us, and we're hopeful it will resonate with our customers," a spokesperson for Spirit Halloween told CNBC. The first 10 locations will act as a test to see whether customers will stay invested through the holiday season.

Maven Clinic, a health-care startup for women and families, announced Tuesday that it has closed a $125 million funding round at a $1.7 billion valuation. Maven CEO Kate Ryder told CNBC she founded the company in 2014 after watching her friends struggle to find the support they needed while building their families. "Digital health is just at the very beginning," Ryder told CNBC. The company was the first U.S. startup dedicated to women's and family health to ever reach "unicorn" status, or a valuation of more than $1 billion.

Walmart is opening five more pet services centers after testing the first location near Atlanta. The centers offer vet visits and grooming. On Tuesday, the company announced it will open five more pet services centers in October and early November. The pet category has also been a way to reach younger and more affluent shoppers, Shadiow said. Gen Z is the fastest-growing segment for Walmart's pet category, as the group ages into pet ownership, she said.
