Nuclear-armed North Korea launched the satellite on Tuesday, but South Korean defence officials and analysts said its capabilities have not been independently verified. Kim examined photos of Seoul and other cities of Mokpo, Kunsan, Pyeongtaek and Osan, where U.S. and South Korean military bases are located. The photos were taken as the satellite passed over the peninsula on Friday morning, state news agency KCNA said. On Saturday, Kim visited the control centre once again to examine more photos taken in the morning of different target regions in South Korea: Jinhae, Busan, Ulsan, Pohang, Daegu and Gangneung. On Thursday, South Korean Defence Minister Shin Won-sik said North Korea had "exaggerated" by saying Kim had already viewed images of Guam.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Europe should not be afraid of working with China because of competition, foreign minister Wang Yi said at a press briefing on Friday with his French counterpart in Beijing. "China's position is clear, we will adhere to our support of Europe's strategic autonomy," Wang said when asked about China's view of its relationship with Europe. China, facing trade issues with the European Union, has also been called out for its non-transparent laws on foreign businesses operating in the country. "We will listen to the voices of European businesses, earnestly solve problems of foreign investors in China," Wang said. Wang said China maintains normal friendly relations with all countries including Iran and Russia, as well as France.

Nov 20 (Reuters) - Keysight Technologies (KEYS.N) beat market estimates for fourth-quarter profit on Monday, as the electronic equipment maker continued to benefit from steady demand in segments such aerospace and defense. Keysight provides electronic design and test products such as oscilloscopes, network emulators and software that are used in aerospace and defense industries, including electromagnetic spectrum operations, radar, signal monitoring, space, satellite, commercial and military aircraft. The company said it saw a 4% rise in revenue from segments aerospace, defense and government, aided by investments in defense technology modernization, electromagnetic spectrum operations, radar and space and satellite. California-based Keysight forecast its first-quarter 2024 adjusted profit to be between $1.53 and $1.59 per share, compared with LSEG estimates of $1.68 per share.
