Elon Musk's battle over his Tesla pay is entering a new phase. A Delaware judge ruled on Monday that Tesla's shareholder vote wasn't enough to pass Elon Musk's $55 billion compensation package. One issue that may come up is whether Musk influenced the negotiations over his Tesla pay package, as the trial judge suggested in her initial ruling, he said. Given that Musk's pay package was set to be the largest ever for a CEO, there aren't many cases to turn to for direct precedent. "When you know Delaware law, you know that stuff like that is just not going to fly," Alon-Beck said.

A man was shot and killed by police after he allegedly threatened residents and staff of a suburban assisted living facility with a chainsaw on Sunday. Witnesses said the man then entered the facility just before police arrived, and had begun to threaten residents with the chainsaw. Police attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the suspect allegedly continued to threaten residents and officers with the chainsaw. According to a release from St. Charles police, residents of the facility and some of the responding officers were treated at the scene for minor injuries. River Glen of St. Charles released the following statement:“This morning, an unauthorized person briefly entered our community and was quickly stopped by responding officers.

Six people were pulled alive from the rubble of a Missouri home Saturday morning after an unexplained explosion mangled the residence, authorities said. All six, said to have been inside the home in Jefferson City when it exploded, were taken to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, with moderate to severe injuries, the Jefferson City Fire Department said in a statement. Two of them were in bad enough shape that they were taken by helicopter for a faster trip to University Hospital trauma center. The Jefferson City Fire Department's Special Operations Rescue Team was enlisted to help pull victims from the rubble, it said. A man who went missing for 25 years was reunited with his family after a friend spotted him in a newspaper report on missing people, police said Tuesday. The article was headlined "He's been in an LA hospital for weeks and they have no idea who he is. A detective from LAPD's Missing Persons Unit came to the hospital and fingerprinted the man, confirming he was the same person who went missing in 1999. The family has asked for their identities not to be revealed, the sheriff's office said. The family will be reunited soon," the sheriff's office said.

CNN —The Maldives, with its sprawling white sand beaches and dazzling coral reefs, is one of the world’s most expensive holiday destinations. Now, though, this Indian Ocean archipelago nation has just increased the price it costs to leave. The departure tax is broken down per passenger based on the class of service they’re using to fly out of the Maldives. Located off the coast of India, the Maldives has a population of about 525,000 across more than 1,000 islands and atolls. Geography makes the Maldives an easy sell for high-end brands, as hotels and resorts can easily have their own private island.
