Outrage has followed the release of a video from a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania that seemed to depict Vice President Kamala Harris tied to a golf cart carrying a man wearing a mask of former President Donald Trump. The float moved along a main street in Mount Pleasant, a town of about 4,000 people located 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. A video appeared to show a woman dressed as Harris with her hands tied at the Halloween parade Wednesday. The fire department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News or share who did the float belong to. The fire department said on Facebook that it has “traditionally only provided safety & traffic control” during the parade.

☆ Elon Musk seeks to move $1 million voter lottery lawsuit to federal court

Elon Musk and his political action committee are seeking to move the Philadelphia District Attorney's lawsuit targeting their $1 million swing state voter daily lottery to federal court from a state-level court. It is not clear what will happen at the hearing, given the notice of removal in federal court. As a rule, federal law bars a state court proceeding from taking place if a party in the case has filed a notice of removal to federal court and a copy of that notice is filed with the state court. The notice filed in federal court by lawyers for Musk and his America PAC argue that because that PAC is registered as a federal entity, it is not subject to state law. Krasner's lawsuit, which claims Musk's $1 million giveaway is an illegal, unregulated lottery, was filed in Court of Common Pleas on Monday.

The Indianapolis Colts are benching quarterback Anthony Richardson in favor of veteran Joe Flacco, sources told ESPN. Richardson, 22, was the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In four appearances this season, Flacco has completed 65.7% of his passes for 716 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. A Chicago man has been charged with 14 felonies after allegedly shooting a Jewish man who was on his way to a local synagogue. But some community leaders are questioning why hate crime charges have not been filed. Snelling said that there wasn't enough evidence to add hate crime charges to the list but said it remained a possibility. "A man wearing the kippah as he walked to synagogue was shot and this has just escalated our anxieties." But I think it’s equally important to understand that whether or not there is a hate crime charge, that’s a technicality.

Amid a somber anniversary and with Election Day on the horizon, concerns about rising antisemitism are at the forefront of many voters’ minds. “I don’t believe a word Trump says, period, much less how he is trying to court Jewish voters. Republicans are aiming to make inroads with Jewish voters and chip away at the margins, with groups including the Republican Jewish Coalition spending big on ads like one featuring three Jewish women discussing antisemitism at an iconic Jewish deli in the Philadelphia suburbs. He says the Jewish community has felt a “political awakening” after the terror attacks on Oct. 7, and if that does not manifest in the presidential race, there could be signs of it in down-ballot races.
