New York CNN —Tesla shareholders on Thursday confirmed they want Elon Musk to get a massive record pay package for running Tesla for the last six years. “The chancellor found a number of defects in the process.”But Tesla shareholders also approved moving Tesla’s state of incorporation to Texas, partly in reaction to the Delaware decision. “What we recognized in 2018 and continue to recognize today is that one thing Elon most certainly does not have is unlimited time,” Tesla board chair Robyn Denholm wrote to Tesla shareholders ahead of the most recent vote. Ark Invest has a five-year target price for Tesla shares at $2,600 a share. Not everyone on that list got there through packages of stock options.

At the turn of the year, the market was banking on six rate cuts beginning in March. Advertisement"The valuation ratio from small caps to large caps right now is at a 24-year low. This is probably one of the best entry points into small and mid-cap stocks," Ewing said. He added that when the Fed starts cutting rates, small caps have historically outperformed. Morningstar holds steady to its expectation of two rate cuts of 25 basis points each for 2024.

Finding an affordable apartment in New York City has become ever more challenging for low-income people — and an expansion of key federal assistance isn't likely to help much. Ultimately, though, it will only issue 20,000 new vouchers, bringing the total number of vouchers up from about 96,000 to about 115,000, the New York City Housing Authority said. AdvertisementNew York City has the largest housing voucher program in the country, but it still falls far short of need. Discrimination against housing voucher holders by landlords is pervasive, even in places that prohibit it. Fully funding housing vouchers is key.

GRETEL AND THE GREAT WAR, by Adam Ehrlich SachsInterwar Austria — baroque, violent, demented, doomed — flickers into view in Adam Ehrlich Sachs’s new novel, “Gretel and the Great War.” No staid work of history, this. Sachs draws from the madcap, darkly comic tradition of postmodern European fiction to reimagine the continent’s catastrophic destiny. The novel opens in November 1919, when Gretel, a young mute girl, is found wandering the streets of Vienna. The neurologist who eventually treats her receives a letter from a sanitarium patient claiming to be her father. But the novel’s charming formal sequence conceals an eruptive, ungovernable force.

False reports about the jury instructions in former President Donald Trump's hush money trial have been spreading across right-wing media, leading to threats against the judge overseeing the case. Those "unlawful means" aren't charges themselves and would not result in separate convictions, so jurors do not have to unanimously agree on them. The jury instruction was complex and nuanced and some right-wing accounts ran with false reports. Natural gas futures have cleared their 200-day moving average and appear to have entered a long-term basing process. Given the potential for a long-term turnaround phase in natural gas prices, we were drawn to the energy sector as a source of potential long-term stock opportunities. Secondary resistance for natural gas comes from a Fibonacci retracement level near $3.50/MMBtu. How to play it One of the natural gas-related stocks that sets up well from a technical perspective is Cheniere Energy (LNG) , which is a provider of liquified natural gas. CNN —Whenever you type a search into Apple’s Safari browser — say, on an iPhone — chances are it’s Google that returns the results. You can tell Safari to pick another search engine, but in practice most people tend to stick with Google by default. You might know that Google pays Apple enormous sums of money every year for that prime placement. Those eye-popping figures, newly unsealed this week, come from a blockbuster antitrust lawsuit against Google that’s just entered its closing stages. Nothing prevented Apple from choosing a different default search partner, Google contends.

The new regime for food imports is perhaps the starkest example of the painful border bureaucracy that UK and EU businesses must contend with in the wake of Brexit. An additional cost of that scale will “significantly increase food prices and reduce choice,” the federation’s CEO Phil Pluck wrote in a letter to environment and food minister Steve Barclay earlier this month. But here too Brexit hasn’t helped, ending as it did the free movement of EU workers on whom British farmers had relied for decades. In addition to Brexit-related challenges, UK farmers have been squeezed by soaring input costs, including those of fertilizer, energy and labor. “I’m not hugely in favor of subsidies, I’m in favor of fair food prices,” Maddocks said.
